Unlike a motion detector this stay active when someone stops moving .I have a 3 zone are set up in my kitchen where lights and scenes get activated by being in the area I have set put in the aqara app. It's powered by a long usb type c connecter which give some versatility when changing cables longer or shorter if needed . As a newish product to market it's well worth the money for a large space . I would recommend the standard presence sensor for smaller rooms . The device can be activated by lux and presence in automations and the unit is fairly small. Set up is a breeze through the aqara app although you may need to do zone set up a few times to have areas to activate accurately. One of the best smart home devices I have and it's great for any automations where you need something to stay activated as long as there is a person detected. A1 product
4.0 out of 5 stars Reliable Presence Sensor with a Few Setbacks, but Pricey
I recently purchased the Aquara Presence Sensor from Bolo, and overall, I'm quite satisfied with its performance. This sensor is a valuable addition to any smart home setup, but there are a few aspects that could use improvement, considering its relatively high price point.First off, the physical installation of the sensor was a breeze. It came with clear instructions, and I had it up and running in no time. However, when it comes to the software, I must admit that it can be a bit challenging to navigate. The setup process could have been made more user-friendly, as it took some trial and error to get everything working smoothly. In terms of sensing capabilities, the Aquara Presence Sensor excels. It accurately detects movement and presence, allowing you to automate your smart home devices with precision. One notable advantage over traditional PIR sensors is that it knows exactly when you leave the room, ensuring that your devices respond accordingly. This feature is incredibly useful and provides a seamless experience.I particularly enjoy the compatibility of this sensor with other smart devices. By using only a HomePod as a hub, I was able to effortlessly control my Hue and Nanoleaf bulbs. The convenience of not needing an additional Aquara hub is definitely a plus. However, there are a couple of downsides worth mentioning. One of the most frustrating aspects is dealing with the sensor's cable. It can be a challenge to figure out the best placement for the cable, and it would have been more convenient if Aquara provided clearer guidance in this regard. Additionally, it's disappointing that a spare USB plug for power isn't included in the package. This means you'll need to find your own spare USB plug, which can be an inconvenience if you don't have one readily available. The major drawback of the Aquara Presence Sensor is its price. It's relatively expensive, and considering its capabilities, I would suggest paying less than £50 for it. While it performs well, it doesn't introduce anything revolutionary to justify its higher price compared to other presence sensors on the market.Despite these minor setbacks and the high cost, the Aquara Presence Sensor performs admirably and fulfills its purpose of automating your smart home devices based on your presence. If you're willing to invest in its price and tackle the initial software setup, this sensor is a worthwhile addition to your smart home ecosystem.Pros:- Accurate presence detection- Knows exactly when you leave the room- Works seamlessly with Hue and Nanoleaf bulbs using only a HomePod as a hub- Enhances your smart home automation experienceCons:- Challenging software setup- Occasional oversensitivity- Cable placement can be tricky- No spare USB plug included- Relatively expensive for its capabilities

one word Awesome.Completely changes everything. Meets and exceeds my expectations.Aqara have produced one hell of a sensor. The Lux sensor alone, is the fastest I’ve ever used. And that alone would be enough reason for me to buy more.I have two of the original FP1 sensors, which I’m currently using and both have been faultless. Once setup properly. But have been slow to detect presence. So still need a additional sensor to speed up motion detection and detect Lux levels.Absolutely not the case with the FP2’s presence sensing and its ability to zone a room. The down sides. The WiFi 2.4ghz only. Which makes it tricky to initially setup if your mesh router can’t split the networks. So if your a sole android user. This could cause a problem. As a IOS user and HomeKit user I had no such problem. But the Aqare iOS app when used with this sensor is extremely slow to display the current position of presence.Which gives the end user the belief that it’s not working as expected. But when you switch over to the android app. Positioning updates of presence update in real time. So obviously a bug with the IOS app.Home assistant. HomeKit integration works perfectly.I was aware that the sensor doesn’t currently work with GH and can’t be exposed to GH via home assistant. But that’s easy to get around with a few helpers and exposing the helpers to GH if needed.I will absolutely be buying more when available
Aqara Détecteur de Présence FP2 - Potentiel, mais avec des Limites
(function() { P.when('cr-A', 'ready').execute(function(A) { if(typeof A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel === 'function') { A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel('review_text_read_more', 'Read more of this review', 'Read less of this review'); } }); })(); .review-text-read-more-expander:focus-visible { outline: 2px solid #2162a1; outline-offset: 2px; border-radius: 5px; } J'ai acheté le détecteur de présence Aqara FP2 récemment, et mes impressions sont partagées.
Presence sensor from the future
I had to buy another one of these for my main floor after seeing how it worked in my basement.I'm very impressed with the accuracy and ability of this presence sensor. I have each of my main living spaces split up into about 7 zones each with their own automations (lights turning on, etc) using HomeAssistant. It's not perfect with accuracy, but it's very close, and better than I've gotten with PIR sensors and ESPHome mmwave sensors. Those sensors only detect presence, but this Aqara sensor gives a highly accurate (again not perfect, but VERY good) 2-dimensional (x,y) representation of where the "presence" is in the room. Accuracy is highest with only one person in the room, and it maxes out at about 5 people as far as telling where they are. However, even with that, it still does a great job with general presence. For setup, this WILL take a bit of time. No, it's not complicated. But yes, it takes a decent amount of configuration. I love playing with home automation projects, so it wasn't a chore for me, though some people who want things to "just work" may not enjoy the setup. It takes a bit of configuring, because it's extremely versatile. For my setup, I had to install the Aqara app and configure it through there first. I then calibrated the sensor, setup the zones with names, etc. After that was done, I added it to HomeAssistant, which does not see the x/y map but instead a list of binary sensors for each zone I configured and if presence is detected in them or not. It also exposes a binary sensor that reflects if any of the zones show presence or not. Lastly, it provides a light (lux) sensor which seems pretty accurate.I haven't tried the other features light sleep monitoring, etc. My main need is presence detection by zone, and I'm very happy so far!
