The Samsonite Roader is a small bag, well designed to be capable of holding way more than you might think - it's a bit of a tardiz! As well as the roomy main compartment, there is a separately zipped end section and a small zipped pocket on the front. I needed a bag which could be used on an outward and return journey, but packed away for the duration of a holiday. The fact that the Samsonite bag is designed to collapse into itself and be zipped to become a packable cube meant that it was perfect. The bag wasn't cheap but what you get is well worth it - an excellent bag in every way.

Got this for my holiday later in the year to put my camera gear into it so I can take in the cabin as I dont want my camera in the hold. Not used yet but is lightweight and well made and looks like it will do the job. Went for samsonite as it its a reputable brand.

Was looking to replace my 53cm Samsonite Dynamo Duffle which i have been using for many years as an over the shoulder bag for travel and shopping. A superb bag with metal straps and a solid cardboardy base. This new Samsonite Roader bag was the closest speck i could find in a very confusing samsonite repertoire, in a similar price range to the Dynamo.However, this bag has a soft base which means everything gravitates towards the center, making it usless for hard items, as well as the shoulder strap holder and the shoulder strap ends being made of plastic. The bag is also thin flimsy material. A real step backwards and my loyalty to this once great company is going to lead me on another search for a strong, moderatley priced duffle bag.A great company that is now focused on cheap/cheaper travel bags, and using rather confusing names to stop their loyal customers from finding the same kind of bag they have been using for many years.

Good but made my suitcase topple over when I put it on the handle. Doesn’t work on a hand luggage suitcase. Might be better for one that goes in the hold.

Perfekt für Frühling und Sommer Billig-Airlines Flüge
Sehr kompakte Tasche, die sich perfekt für Wochenende-Trips eignet mit Billig-Airlines. Ich nehme sie auch gerne als zweite Tasche mit ins Flugzeug. Wenn man klug packt, bietet sie wirklich viel Platz. Ich würde sie eher im Frühling und Sommer nehmen, da zu dicke Kleidung viel Platz einnimmt.

Kleines Handgepäck im Flugzeug
Ich habe ein Handgepäck für den Flieger nötig, weil manche Sachen aus Sicherheitsgründen nun mal nicht ins Aufgabegepäck dürfen. Bei mir ist das nicht viel, so dass ich die Tasche nach den neuesten Größen-Beschränkungen gekauft habe, die bei den Billigfliegern gelten. Ich buche sie nicht, aber bei einer eventuellen Umbuchung wegen Streiks, technischen Problemen, schlechtem Wetter, Unfall etc. würde ich mit meiner bisherigen normalen Handgepäcktasche für jeden zusätzlichen Zentimeter Gepäck ordentlich draufzahlen. Da die Standards bei allen Airlines ohnehin immer weiter gekürzt werden, war es also eine gute Idee, die Tasche gleich kleiner zu dimensionieren. Der Roader besteht aus dem Hauptfach, einer kleinen Tasche vorn und einer vom Hauptfach abgetrennten Seitentasche. Das Material ist gerade dick genug, damit die leere Tasche nicht in sich zusammensinkt. Samsonite-typisch sind Verarbeitung und Material beispielhaft. Da geht so schnell nichts kaputt. Die Zipper des Zweiwege-Reißverschluss am Hauptfach können mit einem TSA-Schloss verbunden werden. Das senkt das Diebstahl-Risiko im Gedränge etwas. Man kann den Roader mittels Lasche an einem ausgefahrenen Trolleygriff befestigen. Das einzige Manko sind die Hand- und Schulter-Tragegurte: hart und ohne jede Polsterung. Hier muss man selbst Abhilfe schaffen.
