I was refurbishing my block paved driveway and needed a new broom to spread the new sand. We all know what they say about a new broom, so I ordered this one as it was the widest I could find on next day delivery. It arrived on time by Evri who seem to be more reliable than Bolo's own couriers.It comes as a kit of parts, so needs some assemply. It's simply a matter of pushing the long stick sort of thing into the bit of wood with the bristles attached and giving the rounded end of the stick thing a bash with a mallet. I thought bristle was a big city in the west of England; perhaps they are all made there hence the name. It might need a nail through the plastic base to secure it in place. You may need help from a tradesperson skilled in the use of nails and hammers to accomplish this step successfully and without personal injury.It might need a bit of DIY skill to assemble as there are no instructions, but it isn't difficult to figure out what goes where. Also, it's a manual broom, so no batteries, mains lead or two-stroke mix for an engine required, just stand behind it and push away from you. You cal also pull it towards you, but if you watch professional brush and broom operators, they always seem to use a pushing movement. And who am I to disagree with professionals?It worked well in spreading 25kg of kiln dried sand and didn't take mch effort. Another convenient feature is that the stick thing is at a useful height to lean on while watching others work. You may need to adjust the length of the stick if your main function in life is supervisory and you'll spend most of your time leaning on it.One feature I really like is that spares are readily available from many places. If the stick breaks, it can simply be replaced and when the bristle thingies are worn out, just replace the head with a new one. This way, the new broom will last for ever.You might think I'm being a little silly with this review - but to be serious, it is a very god broom for the price and has done a good job on my drive.
