Only use it outside on the calmest of days it's a lightweight toy. Use headless setting to simplify flight, it follows the control no matter which way the heads pointing. Can do impressive tricks easily. I've let my 6 year old grandson fly it under very strict supervision, and with practice flies it well. It's stronger than it looks and has taken the knocks without damage. Take off and landing button is useful Flying time approximately 12 mins and it warns you when the battery is low.

Excellent value for money - my grandchildren loved it but beware it does not have a homing function. My grandson became excited and grabbed the controller out of my hands and sent the drone high up into the sky where the wind took it and it disappeared into the blue yonder! With this in mind would buy again!

So DeeRC contacted me because of my first update. After trying numerous trouble shooting steps over and over again my Drone is still not working. I decided that I wanted my money back but DeeRC refused to give me my full refund back. I spent $350.00 on this Drone, which is A LOT of money for someone like me, and I am out $100.00 because they refused to refund the entire price. I wouldn't normally mind this but this was faulty equipment and I feel I am being punished for their sub quality merchandise. Also they would only give me the refund through PayPal and apparently PayPal has a policy of holding the money you recieve for 21 days before you can even touch it!!! So now I am out my Drone, I can't touch my partial refund for 21 days and DeeRC's solution is I can still fly it but I just won't be able to take pictures or videos with it. In other words it sucks to be you. What is the point of keeping a Drone that you can't take pictures or video with!? That is why I bought this Drone! I wanted to get pictures and video of cool things!!! It is now nothing but a glorified paper weight. I will give their customer service a 4 star rating because they really tried their best to help me but as far as DeeRC is concerned they have lost a customer for life and I would suggest you save your money and buy a better Drone from someone else because this Drone is a piece of junk!*UPDATE*I had to replace my first drone as it malfunctioned and would no longer fly the way it was supposed to. The customer service was wonderful but my replacement drone is now malfunctioning as well...They sent me another drone (possibly refurbished) to replace the first one and I was able to use it a total of 3 times before it now is no longer showing video or taking pictures!!! The above screen shots are what the drone is picturing now...I am really disappointed and I am to the point of getting my money back. I spent a lot of money on this drone and I now wish I had bought a better one even if it had cost more! If the sellers want to make it better and not lose another customer they need to send me a NEW drone or I will get my money back and take my business elsewhere!*Original Post*I LOVE my Drone. It is fairly easy to learn to fly but you must read the directions and make sure you follow them. I do have some issues with the pairing with GPS at times but it usually works itself out. I found that keeping my regular internet on and then pairing the drone with it's internet seems to work to connect to GPS faster. I love the sturdiness of this drone and the pictures it takes are very good! I have had some issues with it loosing signal with the camera the farther away it gets but that is to be expected. I have also noticed it isn't as quiet as I was led to believe in the advertisement but I can live with that. I was also not pleased to hear that the only warranty on it is the manufacturers warranty. On something this expensive I would have been willing to pay a little extra for a better warranty! That being said I have really enjoyed this drone very much and I would recommend it to anyone who is serious about having a good working, sturdy Drone!

The media could not be loaded. I am new to drones. I have done research, purchased a few small toy drones, and one bigger drone I had issues with. After speaking with Holy Stone, I decided to take a chance and get a big drone. I saw this one and gave it a shot. I’m glad I did.I immediately noticed the heavier weight of this drone. You will need to register with the FAA, but that’s a painless process. People make it seem terrible. It’s easy. The drone seemed it would handle the wind better than some of the other light drones. The build is solid and sturdy. Nothing feels cheap or flimsy. It feels like it can handle a lot. More on this later.Charging everything takes a good while, so I would recommend grabbing another charging cable and some USB wall chargers. It comes with 2 USB charging cables, but the controller also charges via USB. Charging batteries takes several hours, so having the ability to charge it all at once cuts wait time down as much as possible. Having said that, you do get quite a bit of flight time out of the battery. More than enough for some quality fun.When the GPS calibration is done correctly, the drone hovers pretty much in the area it took off from. Within inches. There is very little variance. It moves a bit, but it stays right there in the area. The app walks you through the calibration process. All features are available in the app and are easy to use. It is painless and in the air within minutes.It flies great. The wind didn’t mess with it much like my other drone. The camera looks great. Follow me works well, and the waypoint function went off without a hitch. Well, almost. I neglected to check if my waypoints had any obstructions, and I flew it right into a tree. It was stuck an easy 40 feet in the tree. I could hear the props smacking the branches until it shut down. I went to the truck to get something to try and knock it down and catch it. By the time I got back, it had already fallen out of the tree. I extended a couple of arms that had half-folded, recalibrated the compass, and it took off again. The camera worked perfectly, and there was no sign of anything wrong. I had a few props that had been damaged, yet it still hovered like it had before. Changed some props and it’s back to normal. I have flown it a few times since, and it’s perfectly fine. This little thing is a tank.I am more than satisfied with this drone, and I would recommend it 100%. The drone is awesome, customer service is awesome, and I am a happy camper. There are zero regrets here. Now I just need the good weather to come back.

I have been flying the DE22 drone for a couple of months. I also have an HS600 and started with an HS100. I purchased this model also because it is larger and heavier than most and that could hopefully resist the wind where I live, be easier to see at distance, and because it has a 2-axis gimbal camera with EIS for more stable video.After reading the manual I charged the transmitter & drone batteries, turned transmitter and drone on, paired them, calibrated the compass (be sure to read the instructions carefully about how to do this) and gyro and then let it find GPS satellites (can take a minute or so). I find it best to do the auto take-off to 10’ and let it hover for 10-15 seconds to stabilize before going up higher.I stayed in Beginner’s Mode to start with then gradually increased maximum distance to 1,000’ and maximum height to 400’ as I grew more comfortable. I avoid windy days or flying where there are people, animals, cars, buildings, trees, etc.I bought a 64GB SD card so I could take photos and record videos on it and transfer them to my PC.I downloaded the app, installed it on my Android phone (Samsung Galaxy S7) and connected it to the drone via Wi-Fi so I could see what it was doing and record videos that way. Worked just fine. Good video quality and stable due to the 2-axis gimbal.After visiting some Facebook groups I learned about an app called UAV Forecast which recommends if its safe to fly based on Kp index, availability of satellites, wind, etc.Note that due to the size and weight (20oz) of this drone it has to be registered with the FAA, which I had already done for my HS100 and was quick and easy ($5 for 3 years and applies to all your drones) and attach the ID to the drone. I live within 5 miles of a medium airport which is Class D controlled airspace so am limited to 400’ altitude. Also, recreational drone flyers must get a TRUST certificate from the FAA. It is a quick and easy test and impossible to fail!So far no flyaways, crashes or erratic behavior. Very stable. All in all a very good drone!

Update from my original review ****Deerc's customer service is great. They have helped me with my drone issue. I've raised my rating although I still wish they would make drones more serviceable. But as I said before, I loved the videos and pictures this drone can take.***************I've had this drone for a while now. Unfortunately, it is no longer working. I've had a few trips where it seems that the drone looses the connection to the controller and then it goes haywire. You can't steer it nor stop it from running into things. The last time it ran into a 100 foot pine tree, it ended up falling to the ground. The drone seemed alright until I attempted to fly it again and found one of the motors was broken.So, I went online and found the replacement motor. Unfortunately, changing the motor is not easy and requires you to take the drone apart and use a soldering iron to remove 3 wires, take the old motor out and then solder the three wired from the new motor in. That went ok but putting the thing back together pinched a wire and broke it. So, here I go opening it up again and soldering that wire. Now that motor works but a different motor apparently has a wire broken. So apart again!At the price of these it is beyond me that they don't realize that there may be crashes. With that in mind, how is it that they didn't make the motors easily serviceable?Of course worse that even that is the completely randomness of starting the thing up when it was working ok. I found that it wouldn't start in Standard mode, only Camera mode. Plus it seemed completely random when it would start. I probably should have sent it back as soon as I got the drone, but I thought the issues were caused by me but now I'm thinking there was something wrong with it from the start.When it did work, I did get some good videos and pictures. Once I would get it in the air it mostly ran fine for the first couple of months. But afterward I would usually loose control of the drone 5 to 10 minutes after I started it.Oh well, I'm going to open it up again when my frustration is under control. My guess though is that I'll be scraping this drone after my next attempt to fix it.
