When that happens a reasonably loud pop sound takes place which was nice to hear, confirming it does the job to some extent. If the light was to have a brighter intensity it would have probably attract more flies during the day. I am yet to try it at night in the dark or when its less light.

I have tried the old fashioned square ones before and not impressed but this really works, we live in a rural area and flys can be a problem but judging by the amount of little bangs you hear and reduction of fly numbers it really works

Awesome product. Zaps areso frequent and so satisfying.Light may be a bit too bright for some.Its a bit bulky for travelling but I accept the compromise.

It works! The dogs and I have just jumped out of our skin as without even knowing a fly was in the room, suddenly a massive 'CRACK!' followed by more loud craclings and flashes emitted from our fly exterminator!I'm pleased.

Does the job it's supposed to but really does need a longer cable. The one attached to unit only has about 1m of cable so you'll need an extension lead to hang it up. Works well though. Comes with cleaning brush to clean out dead bugs.

I wrote to the manufacturer and they wrote back the next day. They sent out an replacement and asked for some more information for their files. It arrived few days later and I can keep the original.In the meanwhile, company suggested to remove the bulb and re-insert saying sometimes, the shipping causes the bulb to loosen. ** Careful here. After turning the unit off/unplugging, they instructed me to wait 30 minutes. I assume there is a large capacitor that needs to be discharged" I did that and that solved the problem. Now I have two working unit and they really zap the bug. Some of the larger moths cannot get in the grill so they are hang near by but out harms way.Only thing I ask would be a on/off switch so I do not need to unplug it. I ended up buying a remote outlet so I can turn it off lazily.Overall, I am happy with the unit. I cannot say anything about the longevity but for last 3 weeks it worked well.Tk you.

[UPDATE] Seller reached out to me and sent a replacement. So far this one seems to be working well.[original review]I received this today, put it out to test it in the evening, and it worked for all of about 10 minutes... Then, next thing I knew, tons of bugs were still being drawn to the light but they were crawling around on the electrical grid without getting zapped at all. Now it seems to only work extremely sporadically... Unfortunate because I like how it is designed where even larger bugs can fly inside and get cooked, but unfortunately failing in under 15 minutes is not acceptable by any means.
MIRACLE zapped for 20 min straight!!
Yallllll!! This is the one. I finally pulled the trigger on prime day and we live out in the country and our porch light attracts so many bugs I hate even walking out there at night.My husband and I sit and watched this thing work it’s magic. I do wish the cage was a little bigger for bigger bugs like beetles but it seems like once they are in there they struggle to get out. I couldn’t hang it and wanted to test it and it worked like a charm. Super happy with this fella
