The instructions and gameplay are super simple and easy to pick up, which certainly helps when children are excited and keen to get playing.Players take turns to spin the spinner and everyone picks up the number of cards that it lands on. You then turn over your cards and everyone counts how many bugs are hiding underneath; so it feels really fun and collaborative, and everyone gets to pick up cards no matter who's turn it is. This is great for holding the attention of younger, easily distracted players who get bored when waiting to take their turn.The player with the most bugs gets to start building their bug, and the first to build their complete bug wins. We always continue playing after this point so everyone gets to finish and complete their bug, which certainly helps my son who doesn't particularly relish losing!I've been blown away by how much this has improved his confidence with both number recognition and counting. He now instantly recognises which number he has spun, and can count how many bugs he's collected easily. And, it's not too simplistic so my seven year old daughter loves playing it with us too.There's a really cute 'Bug Hunters Checklist' included which shows lots of common insects to search out in your garden - so far we've found 10 out of 24 bugs, so lots more bug hunting needed over the summer! And a 'Bug Hunters Fact File' too with simple facts about each bug in the game; my son has particular enjoyed learning about what each bug eats.Like all Orchard Toys games - 10/10 for fun and learning!
