The jaw on the hardened steel can be replaced when it is worn, and the built-in cast iron pipe jaw has grooves to enhance the grip. Two locking bolts are provided to ensure stability.
Turn the vise handle clockwise or anticlockwise to draw the jaw close or open.
The product has higher clamping force, longer opening, larger anvil and deeper throat depth.

This is an upgrade from 4 inch vice (same brand) that lasted 5 months and snapped in half. This 6 inch vice snapped in half after 2 months doing exactly the same job.Returning as obviously not what I expected from a 'heavy duty' vice.

I think really it should be 2.5stars , vice looks great and is well made to a point, great price, but like the two other negative reviews especially the reviewer who said it shouldn't be claiming it's heavy duty their bang on , I've just broke my vintage no 2 record by being silly and not heating a 5mm mild steel and trying bend it cold in vice so it snapped but that vice you could call heavy duty because cast metal is over 2,3,4,5, thicker in places where it snapped, all I can say is I bought this vice as new and use as I needed a vice quickly to replace so was only £38 it's still worth buying and will pay for itself many times over but just treat it carefully and don't put it under to much leave ring motion other wise will snap , if it does you've got the option of at least a 5,mm weld
