Shocking - will not connect to wifi - been trying for hoursAlready had separate 2.4 and 5ghz networks, removed special characters from passwords, followed instructions to the letter… just wont connectAnd the leds on one of the 2 units don’t workNow they’re fitted massively difficult to remove and send backDO NOT BUY

It was difficult to connect but it works exactly as expected, so far with 100% reliability. Alexa can control each socket individually about 15m from my house in a location that my phone is showing two bars of wifi strength.- The clips are very tight and feel flimsy but so far so good.- It would not connect automatically so I had to use its own WiFi network BUT...- Its wifi network did not show up on my phone 🤔It is not in the instructions but I eventually found that you have to wait until it is flashing fast and then press and hold again until it flashes three times repeatedly, i.e. --- --- --- --- etc. When that is happening you can connect to its wifi network and then it worked without any more problems.Recommended but not as your first smart-device. Fortunately, this was my 46th device and I had an reasonable idea what I was doing.

Works really well, I chose as one of the only outside sockets I could find that integrated into home assistant. However, you do need to download the Broadlink TV and broadband app, rather than the BG Home as this allows you to 'unlock' the sockets so they can be discovered on your WiFi by HA

I ordered one of these. Spent best part of a day trying to connect. Had a separate 2.4 network set up already. Turned off 5ghz. Used different mobile devices. Absolutely nothing would connect it.So I went off to B&Q and bought another one. Wondering if the unit was faulty (this one was returned the day after buying). The other unit was exactly the same. The only way I could eventually get it connected was connecting it up to some flex with a plug on the end and move it to within a foot of the router. This isn’t really practical for an external socket. Doesn’t really feel very safe. Also doesn’t feel like it should be necessary.I also could only connect it to the BroadLink app. BG home was having none of it.With that said (two days down the drain) when it was eventually connected to the app, I could unplug it, disconnect the flex and install it out in the garden where I wanted it. It reconnected to the app almost instantly and has worked great ever since. But really shouldn’t be this difficult just to get a socket working.

Perfect, just what I needed now I can plug my EV in and control when it comes on and goes off to charge overnight. Much cheaper than a wall charger and align the timer to the cheap overnight rates!

Impossible to get this socket to connect to my wifi. Have tried everything and tried the setup about 20 times. Am in discussion with the tech support but can only see the outcome being a replacement unit or a refund. How rubbish that the sole reason for buying this unit was to connect to my wifi and it just doesn't work. Very poor.

It works perfectly, BUT it’s a nightmare to set up with the app the manufacturer recommends. I simple couldn’t get it to set up. At all.HOWVER! Download the Broadlink App instead. It set up perfectly first time. You can then add the Broadlink skill to Alexa and there you go, device discovered. Done.In summary:1. Download Broadlink app. Not the one recommended by manufacturer.2. Hold down the left button on the socket for 5 seconds - both will start flashing red.3. Go to Broadlink app, add device and follow the instructions.4. Done!
