5.0 out of 5 stars Just works, fast, reliable, great connectivity but runs hot
This is top class. Very easy to set up. It needs a good quality crimp so make sure you have a good crimper or ready made cable. The signal strength is excellent. It is the size I expected if not a fraction thicker. It gets hot. I got it to improve in my ISP WiFi system and to allow IoT devices to connect. It does it fantastically well and blisteringly fast
5.0 out of 5 stars "Wish I Bought This Sooner – Massive WiFi Upgrade!"
The TP-Link EAP650 completely transformed my WiFi from barely usable to blazing fast. Before, my network was sluggish and unreliable, but after installing this access point, the difference is night and day—super speeds, seamless streaming, and rock-solid connections everywhere.Installation was a breeze (even for a non-expert like me), and I love how it just works without constant tweaking. If you’re on the fence, don’t wait like I did—this device is a game-changer for home or office WiFi.Pros:✔ Huge speed boost – From minimal to max performance!✔ Easy setup – Up and running in minutes.✔ Reliable coverage – No more dead zones.Cons:❌ Only regret? Not buying it sooner!5/5 stars – Highly recommend!
5.0 out of 5 stars Good performance and very neat - an excellent piece of kit.
As with other TP-link wall access points, this one performs well, having good range despite being small and fixed next to a metal wall box. It provides as much coverage as the larger Tp-link ceiling access points. It's a 3-port switch as well.Perfect for upgrading an office, home or work, from a single network point. Also, with a few of them, a jolly neat way of providing coverage in a larger house. The only reservation is price but I suppose TP-link sets it at that level because there is simply no competition.
5.0 out of 5 stars Access point
Using at home but with at least 20 devices attached works seamlessly so far, easy to set up with app and set house and guest logins.
5.0 out of 5 stars WiFi booster
Has given us WiFi in part of the house which could only get minimum signal. Now getting 500 meg it's even faster than the WiFi down stairs
5.0 out of 5 stars Replaced unreliable Netgear Orbi Pro Mini and was well worth it
I had endless problems with my mesh Netgear Orbi Pro Mini setup with reliability issues (devices just disconnected for no reason) and had to manually reboot Netgear's every 2 weeks to stop this.I wanted another VLAN aware, multi-SSID Access Point and decided to give TP-Link EAP-650 a go. So far so good. I installed the Omada Controller software on Windows Server and the setup of the Access Point was pretty straight forward and I am certainly very happy with the product so far. Finding that one AP covers the whole house for me (modern detached house with plasterboard walls).
3.0 out of 5 stars make sure you know how you're going to power this
very frustrating that the eap650 doesn't come with the same type of POE psu that all my other omada kit came with (245, 110) and also doesn't have a 2nd ethernet port in it. I guess I should have done my research a bit before buying but it's still massively annoying that tplink decided to make this change to their supplied hardware.
1.0 out of 5 stars Bad product and false advertising
TP-Link EAP650 WiFi 6 Access Point - the supported speed is advertised is practically impossible to achieve in real world. The device immediately starts to throttle the speed. When you run a speed test it goes to 900mbps (in ideal conditions) and quickly starts throttling to 600mbps, most likely due to cheap processor and firmware setup to protect from overheating or something. If you need high speed device with reliable connection, this is not it.

Fast shipping, great product
The TP-Link AX1800 Access Point is an outstanding device that truly delivers on its promises! Setting it up was a breeze, with clear instructions and an intuitive interface. The dual-band Wi-Fi 6 technology provides blazing-fast speeds and exceptional reliability, even in a busy household with multiple devices. One of the most impressive aspects is the wide coverage range—dead zones in my home are now a thing of the past. The device handles high-bandwidth activities like streaming 4K content and online gaming effortlessly, ensuring a lag-free experience. Its sleek design blends seamlessly into any environment, and the management options via the Tether app make monitoring and adjusting settings incredibly convenient. If you're looking to upgrade your home network with reliable, high-speed internet, the TP-Link AX1800 is a fantastic choice!

Does what it's supposed to, rev3 is openwrt compatible!
I received the EAP610 v3, contrary to what the product description stated (v2). There are multiple revisions, so keep that in mind when ordering.Set up was simple, settings are clear and the web ui is easy to use. I was a bit disappointed that I had to connect the unconfigured and unsecure access point to my router for initial set up, but later I found that there is an app to facilitate initial setup. I guess I should have read the instructions. XDSignal strength is pretty good. I had the device flipped on it's back for setup, and I still got a decent signal from my PC in the Fractal Mood, which has it's antennas hidden under the case and behind the couch, with the tx strength limited to 4dB and 8dB for 2.4 and 5Ghz respectively. This rev (v3) has three antennas -- what seems like two 2.4GHz antennas and one 5GHz pcb antenna, although they may be shared or used for other purposes depending on software configuration. There is a position for a 4th antenna (ant4) on the PCB, but it appears to be unoccupied. The rear shell of the device is used as a heatsink, which the main microcontrollers are coupled to via thermal pads. I haven't noticed it get particularly hot, but it is rather underutilized in my network and I reduced the tx power. If you use the device to it's limits, it might be a good idea to install in a well ventilated area, or in a conditioned space. This revision is actually the same (or close enough) to EAP613 that I was able to install Openwrt onto it. Obviously you cannot do much with openwrt, as the device only has one ethernet port and enough memory as an AP might need, but it allows me to continue receiving security and functionality updates once the product is EoL, which was my main concern. If you do the same, ensure you are on the ap's default subnet (192.168.1.1 is the defualt ip), or be prepared to connect directly to your PC via ethernet and configure from there.Edit: Tested with a Reolink RLA-PS1 PoE (802.3af/at) switch I have, and it works fine. Make sure your switch/injector uses a compatible standard, and that it has enough power budget to handle all the devices on it.
