Soudal Butyrub Grey 300ml is a professional-quality polybutene-based sealant designed for static and low-movement joints in roofing, glazing, building and general construction applications. Unlike conventional fully curing silicone sealants, Butyrub is a semi-setting sealant. After application it develops an elastic, watertight skin while remaining plastic beneath the surface. This makes it particularly suitable for joints with limited movement where a durable weather-resistant seal is required. Butyrub is ideal for sealing connection joints in masonry and around window and door frames, window sills and other common building components. It provides very good adhesion to many porous construction materials and can be applied to both horizontal and vertical joints. The sealant is also particularly useful for roofing applications. It can be used to seal openings in roof constructions, including lap joints in sheet metal roofing, and is suitable for roof and gutter repair and renovation work. For glazing applications, Butyrub can be used when installing single glazing into suitable wooden, concrete and steel window frames, including applications such as greenhouses. It is also suitable for various low-movement joints encountered in building and construction work. Once applied, the sealant forms an elastic and watertight surface skin. It provides excellent resistance to weathering and UV exposure as well as resistance to many chemicals, helping provide dependable performance in exposed applications. Butyrub can be painted approximately 24 hours after application using a compatible coating with sufficient flexibility. This allows the finished joint to be incorporated neatly into surrounding painted building surfaces where required. The product is supplied in a convenient 300ml cartridge and can be applied using a standard manual or pneumatic caulking gun. Surfaces should be rigid, clean, dry and free from dust and grease before application. With a service temperature range of approximately -30°C to +80°C, Soudal Butyrub provides a versatile professional sealing solution for roofers, window installers, builders, maintenance professionals and DIY users.
