The M1 is a wondeedul machine. Large work area, strong and accurate laser, good extraction for smoke. Not a galvo, so perfect functionality for larger, straight lines. Just always enure you have the material thickness set before starting.The built in camera is handy, but fish-eyed and not the best for working out placement. I found you can refresh it during processing so I can monitor it while in another room.The enclosure is good, with a strong lid and magnetic seal. My cat likes to sit on it and watch the laser module move around.Base unit is white, lid is orange and filters the laser so you can watch the progress.The free XCS software is also very good and easy to use - with a desktop version and a mobile version. Again, ensure thickness settings are correct - I found certain changes in a project will reset that and can result in ruined materials.I made a lot of Xmas presents last year and a variety of projects that I've given as gifts.Good if slightly expensive for hobby work but also a nice entry point for a small business - like an Etsy store or equivalent.

Have not used it yet so will update my review but so far I’m loving it. Make sure you have space for the ventilator. This is an independent review, not getting paid for it. The product came well packaged, could have received it earlier but I opted to receive it on a day I knew I would be at home. I’m so in love with this item and like a child getting candy lolUpdate: I have tried a few engraving items and omgosh, I’m so I love with this machine. Easy to use. I am having problems with permanent vinyl cuts, but I’m still learning so no fault of the machine. You will not go wrong with this laser. It is so user friendly and a dream to work with. Not sorry for my purchase. I love it

The media could not be loaded. When the xTool M1 arrived, I was like a child on Christmas morning, as is often the case when I get technology that is new to me. I love learning new things, and I really love new gadgets and tools! The xTool M1 is an enclosed laser engraver and cutter with a blade that can cut paper, vinyl, leather, and other items. There are two models of the xTool M1, a 5W and a 10W version. I would not get a 5W version unless you know you’re only going to things it can handle well. The price difference isn’t that much, so you’re better off getting the cutting power and speed of the 10W version. I have cut and engraved wood straight from the box using the software supplied which is very easy to use and plenty of help and facebook groups about if you want any advice!

Good. Software easy to use.However, laser module not completely straight though, resulting in cuts being a few degrees to the vertical.Also, wifi range is terrible - can't connect to hub 10m away, tested on multiple hubs (2.4GHz).Laser developed reduced power after ~100 hours of use, but Xtool were happy to send out a replacement module, which fixed the issue. If they're willing to do that every time that happens for the 2 year warranty window, no problem.

Easy to set up.Good fun to make things for my family and friends.Easy to set up.The cut lines are clear and you can work on different amterials like vinyl, wood, glass, slate.Not cheap but wirth the money.

the m1 is now discontinued though it is a great machine.. i would say save a little extra and buy the m1 ultra.. that is the new versioneverything came well packaged. and works great..

Wow what a machine so easy to setup and use and the amount of materials it can use is amazing had no issues so far and would recommend itBreezes through tumblers with the correct settings and really quick alsoWe have used on tumblers, wood so far oh and some vinyl aswell
