You need 2 hard disk to cram in here, no surprise.The software is not incredibly intuitive, more so complex, but I guess that's because of how fully-featured it is. I've set up users and folders, I've got Plex running on it, my Sonos library is on there. Basically, for me, it acts as a simple mirror.All working nicely until the day it beeped at me loudly and said 1 of the 2 Seagate NAS disks was suspect, it removed it from the RAID pair and showed red on the front panel. I got myself a new disk and changed it over... the NAS spent several hours (about 6 I think) rebuilding the RAID array and I have green lights on the front again.I don't expect disk failures, maybe I got unlucky... but at least I am not only depending on theory now - my data feels safe enough.

I have used this with Barracuda 4 TB hard drives and with WD 8 TB. Very noisy.

Whilst retired I do have an IT support background. However despite using the recommended NAS drives (Seagate Iron Wolf Pro) which I was intended to use in a RAID1 configuration, I found this NAS so difficult to set up and use that after over 8 hours of trying I decided enough was enough and I am returning it for refund as its simply not intuitive. (unless it's faulty)Keeping it simple, I did use the configuration wizard and this seemed to work, but be warned, there is lots of technical jargon in there and unless you understand this (or google it) then it will not be easy for the uninitiated. Other than a how to physically fit the drives in the bay, there is no manual provided in the box, though this can be downloaded if you can figure out which one to download as even that is not intuitive.I could see and access the drive(s) once it had gone through the configuration and I was able to access them - I think. But then trying to copy files over from my local MacBook Pro hard drive to the NAS just kept failing with some obscure error code. I know it's not the local drive as doing the exact same copy of files to an external SSD worked flawlessly. Likewise, same files could be uploaded to my cloud storage without error. So, can only be the NAS. I also then tried to copy the files from the SSD to the NAS via the direct copy function button on the NAS but this did not work and apparently needs to be configured, but how and where, its not clear and I could not see anything obvious in the QNAS application. Again, not intuitive or user friendly by any stretch of the imagination.Yes, I did try the QNAS on-line help but again this was counter intuitive and I could not even get to their support site for assistance. After 8 hours of struggling and getting nowhere I gave up.If you are a seasoned IT Pro who understands NAS it may be fine, after all I may have done something wrong in the initial config (who knows). If you are a home user with limited technical knowledge then find someone who can help you or avoid and save yourself the frustrations.1 Star as I could not get it to work. That said the build quality seems good.

Bei der Durchsicht der Protokolle fand ich heraus, das dafür ein Update der "Geo-IP"-Funktion verantwortlich war... Also Geo-IP abgeschaltet und seitdem läuft das NAS wie ein Uhrwerk!Nachtrag: Ich gebe jetzt mal wieder vorsichtige 5 Sterne! Nach einem kompletten Wipeout und Reset habe ich das NAS komplett neu aufgesetzt, und jetzt scheint es wohl anstandslos zu funktionieren!Es erfüllt seitdem im Hintergrund seine Arbeit so wie es soll!Man braucht fast einen Doktor-Titel oder muß Dipl.Ing sein, um das Ding einrichten zu können:Ich wäre schon fast daran gescheitert ein einfaches Volume zu erstellen und einbinden! Nur durch viel Googlen habe ich es nach Stunden geschafft, das Ding endlich zum laufen zu bekommen!Mittlerweile läuft alles und ich bin zufrieden! Vor allem der Geschwindigkeitsschub via LAN ist beindruckend: Von meinem alten NAS mit maximal 12 mbit/s im Upload zum NAS auf jetzt bis zu 110mbit/s...!Trotzdem: Der Funktionsumfang erschlägt einen fast! Wer sowas sucht und sich auskennt, ist hier bestens bedient!Anfänger oder alle die nur ein einfaches Datengrab suchen: Lieber auf ein simpleres Model zurückgreifen!

Con ellas puedes gestionar todos tus archivos de forma remota, lo que significa que puedo acceder a mis datos desde fuera de casa sin complicaciones.Una de las cosas que más me gustan es la cantidad de aplicaciones que puedes instalar, incluyendo varias dedicadas a la seguridad y protección contra malware. Además, incluye apps para copias de seguridad automáticas y hasta Plex, que convierte la NAS en un servidor multimedia. hali hazırda kullandığım synology ds120j ile kıyaslama yaparak artı ve eksi yönlerini anlatmak isterim. her iki nas cihazı 2 den fazla ip kamera yı ücretli lisans karşılığında veriyor , kullandığım mi home kamera ile anker eufy için arada kayıt kalitesi farklı, qnap 15 fps ile synology 30 fps ile kayıt yapıyor. synology için uygulama marketinden bir kaç yardımcı app şart , qnap ise geldiği şekilde extradan bir app yüklemenize gerek olmadan fazlası ile temel özellikleri barındırıyor. ne kadar uğraşsamda synology nas a 100 mbit olan hız ile ne indirme ne de yükleme yapamadım, 5 Mb/sn de çok kötü bir performansı olduğu için qnap ts233 aldım. qnap ın mobil uygulamsı ile ister mobil cihazımdan ister pc den backup almak aşırı basit ve eşzamanlı olarak sync yapması, mobil uygulamalarının (qfile, qmanager, qvr pro client vs) kullanımı synology e göre sorunsuz. en önemli fark ram ve cpu çekirdek hızı ama arada yarı yarıya fiyat farklı olduğunu bilmek lazım o yüzden bu karşılaştırma daha çok kullanışlılık, memnuniyet ve uzaktan sorunsuz erişim üzerinedir. qnap raid1 kurulumu 10 saat gibi bir sürede dir sonrasında sorunsuz . kamera kaydı yaptığı için sürekli çalışıyor ve ortalama 10 kWh güç harcıyor üzerinde 4tb + 4tb diskle. son olarak satın aldıktan 2 gün sonra ufak ta olsa indirim yapılması hoş olmadı

J'étais un peu déçu niveau bruit, car il était assez bruillant, avec les disques durs conseillés par Qnap, et comme il est dans le salon, c'était assez dérangeant.Cependant, le 9 mars, après une mise à jour du système, il est devenu beaucoup plus silencieux et on ne l'entend quasiment plus.

Quick installation and a guided setup allows the users to get thr NAS up and running in no time. There are a lot application's to help you with every task and settings to customised everything. The QNAP customer support is quick to answer any questions. Draws very little power and is super efficient.Cons : It can get overwhelming for a beginner to go through all settings a understand everything. The folder permissions settings are quite complicated for a beginner. Not a good choice if you are thinking of using this setup as a Plex server as it's not powerful enough and will struggle even with some high bitrate 1080p content. The processor is weak but draws very less power and gets the job done.
