When measuring a circuit or component, if you use a multimeter pen to measure, you must hold the test pen with your hand to measure. If you use a test hook, you can hook the component pin with the hook of the test hook and then measure. That is, you can use the test hook to free your hands from the measurement.

Since there is no way to connect them with wire, I don't have any use for them. I simply have too little imagination. Presumably some people have pricked their fingers and now the makers have dispensed with the connection option altogether? R&S hooks have 2 on the side.
