The blurred background of subjects is by far one of the best I've seen when photographing portraits as well as vlogging with this lens at 18mm , perfect! . Used for a trip in the lake district and was blown away, lens is absolutely great and extremely sharp. autofocus is responsive and quite. lens does have some slight distortion and fringing but nothing that can’t be sorted in post. overall a great lens perfect if you don’t want to take multiple prime lens about.

Seriously, I didn’t expect it to be this good. I thought this was an entry lens for aspc cameras but man was I wrong. This thing outperforms nearly all the lenses I currently have that cost an arm and a leg compared to this. The value for money is insane. Through the roof. I could not ask for anything more.Fits perfectly on my Sony a6700 ASPC camera and is as sharp as ever. It is not heavy either making my everyday camera set up very ergonomic and convenient to carry.It functions amazingly. Aperture is incredible, zoom is amazing and sharpness is very consistent even in 50mm. Incredible I would recommend this to anyone looking for a good versatile aspc lens.

I was looking for a general purpose lens to go with my new Sony a6400. I liked the fact that it had an f2.8 aperture throughout which makes it good for bokeh (blurred background in portraits) and was good for land scapes too. I would have preferred 16 to 50mm for a wider field of view, but the f2.8 swayed me, being better than f4 in low light situations. Performance is excellent. Crisp clear images, very good colour rendition and overall very good value. For me it is just right.

Awesome lens from sigma small compact and excellent quality images from my a6700.even the jpegs are brilliant no need for any processing really they are that good.

It's reasonably sharp for a small zoom lens. The weight and size are the main reasons I got it over the Sony and Tamron. As a beginner I felt the most important thing is taking camera out and use it, it's difficult to do so with heavier and bigger lens.

As Sharp Or Nearly As Sharp As My Prime Lenses
I'm a big fan of Sigma prime lenses such as the 16 mm, 30 mm, and 56 mm. I also greatly enjoy the Sony 50 mm and my go-to favorite is the Sony 35 mm OSS. This Sigma 18 to 50 mm is nearly as sharp as the Sony 35 mm OSS. Very versatile as a walk around town lens without protruding too far away from the camera and without adding unnecessary weight. It's an incredible value (a steal) at this price.

Das Sigma 18-50mm F2.8 DC DN ist so kompakt und so scharf, dass ich mir manchmal Sorgen um meine Poren mache.Der Zoombereich von 18–50 mm - Perfekt für alles von Fast-Weitwinkel-„Wow“-Landschaften bis zu „Hey, schau mal, das ist ein Kaffee auf Instagram“-Detailshots. Offenblende f/2.8 durchgehend? Mein Low-Light-Retter bei romantisch-dunklen Restaurants oder spontanen Aufnahmen in der blauen Stunde – und das alles ohne dass mein ISO explodiert wie ein Vulkan in Italien.Der Autofokus ist schön flink und dabei wiegt das Ding fast nichts – mein Handgelenk dankt es mir nach jedem Fotowalk.Fazit: Dieses kleine Sigma-Wunder ist mein Dauerbegleiter geworden. Wenn es ein Sandwich wäre, wär's leicht, scharf und immer dabei – einfach lecker. Wer ein vielseitiges, lichtstarkes Objektiv für den Alltag sucht, hat es hiermit gefunden.
