Simple to use, powered from external usb. I am using the audio extractor with a HDMI PC monitor and soundbar. Audio works fine into the soundbar either with the optical output or the analogue audio.

This splits the audio from an HDMI signal and delivers it through a digital optical socket. It serves a narrow purpose, in my case connecting a modern Apple TV to a new projector while routing the audio to a 20 years old (but perfectly serviceable) stereo system, but does it well. It is powered by a usb port and it is important to plug that in first so it can recognise the hdmi signal. It saved me having to invest in a new amplifier.

I bought this to use with my Bolo firestick. I have it in my office connected to a computer monitor so no audio available. You can plug in headphones but there is no volume you can adjust to make it louder as this is a pre-amp output to go into an audio amp. The output is too low to use a 3.5mm jack to connect to an Bolo Echo or similar. If you thought you could use to connect to a bluetooth speaker then this is not for you. It has HDMI pass thru and an optical output to use a TOSLINK to connect to an audio amp if required.

Didn't open until 2 months after my order. Completely useless, outputs no hdmi signal, not even recognised by any device so impossible to know if hdmi input works. Audio outputs bunch of noise regardless of what is connected or not. At this point anybody can sell a box with ports on it and claim it does something it doesn't. Complete robbery.

Finally got it set up. The jack is crackly but the optical works well. Set your firestick to dolby digital and it works well. Think the volume level is compromised but overall its a good device for the small cost

My old TV refused to pass 5.1 to the Sonos so I has to use this to and the (Sonos) SPIFF to HDMI adapter to get the the XBox surround working.

Bought this to extract the audio from an HDMI connection to a computer monitor which doesn't have any integrated speakers or any audio pass through.I plugged in a pair of powered speakers to the 3.5mm headphoe output and got good clear sound. No obvious issues with picture latency or anything else.I did have a very very slight warbling sound that could be heard very slightly but this turned out to be the speakers themselves. After swapping to a better set the noise was gone.

Funktioniert einwandfrei und ohne Zeitversatz beim Ton, sowohl über den analogen als auch über den optischen Lichtleiterausgang. Ich habe das Gerät eingesetzt, um einen fire TV Stick anzuschließen an meinen Beamer. Der Beamer hat keinen Tonausgang. Bei der Installation sollte man sehr vorsichtig sein und die Kabel nicht allzu sehr in den Buchsen verdrehen, denn das Gerät ist sehr filigran, aber die Funktion ist absolut einwandfrei.
