This is just another player in my never ending search for a music player that my elderly mother can use. I thought with its big buttons, this could be the one.Its best function is the CD player which works well with the remote. It is light weight and stylish (good) but a bit cheap looking. Sound quality is good and the paired speakers are surprisingly good quality. The 5 equaliser buttons on the remote work well for each music genre with "Rock" being good for Audio book CD's.The Bluetooth connects easily turning the player into a BOOMbox bluetooth speaker for which the equaliser modes work.The USB mode only plays the lessor quality .mp3 files no flac or ogg which is a shame.Turning the player off and on does retain the last function mode you where inOne annoyance is that the CD lid has to be manually opened and its toothed hinge is a bit stiff.The radio function is poor, the scan doesnt lock onto stations. The few strong stations suffer buzzing from the AC power lead.Its a shame the display screen is so bargain basement, the characters need to be bold capitalised and larger as they are hard to see. Its a shame there wasn't a voice prompt for each change in function mode.So for the money there are some compromises.

You get what you pay for. The cd player was skipping on my disks immediately Give the suppliers their due, when I contacted them they were very apologetic and sent out another one straight away, telling me to dispose of the faulty one. They have since followed up asking if its ok. I only got this item for occasional use when I play classical cds in my kitchen or down in the garage so it hasnt had a lot of use but its ok. Not fabulous sound, very tinny but it plays . Finding radio stations on it is a nightmare but as its use is so infrequent its not bothered me. Not amazing sound but its cheap and cheerful.

Bought for my brother, nice and easy to use, plays USB well also. Only 4 stars because I did not choose a version that has DAB.

Things started well, with speedy delivery and no obvious damage to product or packaging. Easy to unpack, and with a very good remote control all should have been fine. Unfortunately although the radio worked - a bit crackly but it did work - the CD player was wholly defective and wouldn't play any CD. Sent details to the seller, who agreed the machine was defective and that I could keep it for parts as there was no point returning it.Problem was the seller's system refuses to make any refunds until after a return of goods has been completed and all five return options require use of a compatible smartphone, which I don't own. Eventually went directly to Bolo who immediately arranged for a full refund.A fair assessment (I think) is that anyone can be unlucky and receive a defective machine, but that the refund policy does not make sense, boiling down to: "You can keep the machine but we won't refund you until you send it back".The boombox is fairly compact and the controls appear simple, if it worked I would have been happy with it and its basic design looks solid. I just got a 'Friday Afternoon' one........
