As a beginners bass this is a nice low cost option, I bought it for my wife who's just starting out and was finding her old unbranded Fender Precision copy a bit heavy, the basswood body is much lighter and she's enjoying playing it.

The pickups aren't really loud that loud especially the bridge volume difference is shocking. Will be swapping them out for new pickups eventually.Other than that, the bass is brilliant for it's price point. It does require a decent set up when you get it though otherwise you'll be left with very high action from the factory along with intonating it properly and you will be ready to play. I wouldn't suggest this for slap, as it really would need some work for that.

String buzz very bad on E string. Very light and quite a poor low end sound. I've since paid triple (after a lot more research) and got a quality per £far superior. Customer service for return was excellent.
