The SINGER even feed foot, sometimes called a walking foot, is used for sewing several layers of fabric, and is a must-have when quilting. It is also great for matching plaids or stripes and sewing fabrics with nap or pile, to keep them from shifting. The SINGER even feed foot has its own set of feed dogs that work in conjunction with the sewing machine’s feeding system, for perfect fabric feeding. It is a genuine SINGER accessory in a carded blister pack and is for use with low-shank sewing machines.

I went for a sewing lesson yesterday for patchwork quilting and my teacher said get the “Singer walking foot” for your project. She said I kept saying “no I don’t need on” for years until a friend made her use it and now she says she uses it for absolutely everything!! She said it’s brilliant so I’ve just bought it and put it on (make sure you have a magnetic screwdriver as it’s fiddely without one).Let’s see how we get on ☺️I’m new to sewing machining so I don’t know any difference, so I can’t really comment on how I like it!

I've used this on the heavy duties and now the Quantum Stylist 9960 and there is a problem with the latter in that because the arm on the walking foot is straight and not a 'claw' it keeps getting stuck in the up position which drags the fabric back and causes bounce which makes it useless. So 4 star on the Heavy duty, 1 star on the Quantum stylist.
