I fear for smarties - one of those brands out of fashion and probably on its way out. A big tube of smarties is a wonderful thing especially if there are plenty of orange ones. When I was a small kid they were so popular there was two individual sizes available. In the Rowntree-Mackintosh days of course. Before Nestle ruined British confectionery for good.

I bought a tube of Smarties hoping for a tasty treat, but also secretly wondering if they might make me a little bit smarter. Spoiler alert: I still can’t do advanced math, and I haven’t been invited to join Mensa. However, they did make me very happy, so I suppose that’s a different kind of intelligence—the wisdom to always carry snacks.Flavor-wise, these little chocolate-filled buttons are elite. The crispy shell gives that satisfying crunch, and the smooth milk chocolate inside is just perfection. Plus, they come in all those bright colors, which is great for pretending you’re doing some kind of sophisticated taste test when really you’re just eating them by the handful.Final verdict: They may not boost your IQ, but they’ll definitely raise your mood. A+ for taste, F for false advertising on the “smart” part.
