This is because tiles already placed on the board can be trapped and so the board layout changes as you play. Think of a combination of scrabble and othello (another great game). Nice quality pieces and a good addition to the games cupboard. Recommended

An enjoyable alternative to the original scrabble game. The rules as written could be clearer as they are open to interpretation causing heated discussions.The usual intent to land on bonus point squares leaves the player open to jeopardy and strategically may be better avoided.It is fun, though and the product well made.The squares are laid out differently to the original, the tiles differ in colour and size and the bench for holding the tiles is more chunky.I would have given it 5 stars if the rules were more instructive regarding the traps.But it is a good game when you agree on the function and execution of the traps amongst the players beforehand.

Great Gift for the regular gamer, enjoyable and a fun twist on the traditional scrabble. Avoid the premium squares to avoid risk of being trapped! Great family fun

The extra mechanic makes it too complicated to enjoy the game. This is a case of "if it ain't broke don't fix it", unfortunately.

The game is a present so I am not aware of the nature of the game but as the participants enjoy scrabble I thought this would be a fun alternative take on it.

Yet, the quality is very good.
Interesting twist on original Scrabble
It's nice to have the option to spice up the game, however, we do prefer playing regular Scrabble on this board. The rules of the trap tiles can be overwhelming at time, and create an entirely different game dynamic.
