For quite some time, I’ve been trying a new conditioner every time I run out, forever in search of the holy grail conditioner that makes me stop my quest and repurchase. It was looking like that may never happen… until now!! I have been seeing a new hair stylist (I get highlights about every 6-8 weeks) and my hair has been feeling a little straw like. I don’t know if it’s the stylist or what, I’ve been getting my hair bleached for years and years and suddenly it’s very NOT soft. After using this conditioner for the first time, I was shocked at how SOFT my hair felt! It was such a relief to feel silky softness when I touched my hair. I’ve continued to use it and I don’t have any complaints. My hair has been more voluminous too. For reference I have long, wavy hair, my hair is fine but there’s A LOT of it.

I was inspired to break out my handy thesaurus to describe the malodorous reek of this product after they recently changed the formula.The formerly light and lovely, citrusy scent of DevaCurl Delight has now been replaced with some foul-smelling chemical reminiscent of nothing so much as the cheap and tawdry perfume favored by ladies of the night. When I applied it to my hair for the first (and last) time, I felt transported to a 19th century French bordello. As the fetid odor quickly filled my bathroom and threatened to turn my entire home into a house of ill-repute, and because I also have no desire to subject any innocent passersby to an unexpected asthma attack should they inadvertently walk through the invisible cloud of poisonous fumes hanging in the air around me, I quickly re-shampooed my hair twice to get rid of as much of the noisome stench as possible. I then quarantined myself from polite company for two days, until enough of the fetor had dissipated, and I could feel secure that no one I encountered would assume I had made a recent career change.I have returned the red lights I was inspired to purchase for my front windows while under the influence of the reeking vapors emitted by this product, but sadly cannot return the product itself, lest the mail carrier accuse me of chemical attack and/or attempt to engage my services. Therefore, I wrapped the bottle in multiple layers of heavy-duty contractor's plastic and sealed it with duct tape to hopefully contain the miasma over the weekend. Then I safely disposed of the insidious package in the biohazardous waste receptacle at work the following Monday.In short, this STINKS, so check your local zoning laws to make sure that brothels are permitted in your area prior to purchase.
