Rosamonte
Mate grows exclusively in South America. Cut, dried leaves and stems are used for this tea. Mate tea is a delicious drink in which the leaves of the mate tree (yerba mate) are infused in hot or cold water. The word mate comes from the name of the drinking vessel, mate, calabash, which is used for drinking. To make yerba mate tea properly (the traditional way), you need a calabash, a bombilla (drinking straw). Yerba mate is poured into this mate cup and poured with water. The finished extract is then drunk from the calabash through a special strainer, a bombilla. In South America, there is another extremely popular form of mate tea: terere. This is the name of the drink infused with ice water. The dosage of mate bush leaves infused is the same as for the hot preparation. Calabashes are traditionally made from both wood and gourd. A cup of yerba mate develops more and more intense flavour some time. The more often you drink from these calabashes, the better the flavour becomes. Mate is different in nature, taste, and effect from any other drink you've ever had.
