This seemed to fit the bill for us as it has slightly larger capacity in terms of the amount of water / cooking capability it could do in one go. Its a great bit of kit. It is very well made and very compact. Easy to set up, even when the weather isn't playing ball and despite wind and rain it did exactly what it needed to do very quickly and efficiently. At its price point compared to competitors, its great value and we would highly recommend. We use it for camping / hiking and it packs down well and is very light. Perfect for a hot drink or heating food quickly on the go.
5.0 out of 5 stars The surprisingly good cooking system
For years, I used regular gas stoves and never saw the need for more expensive cooking systems like this one. However, I got the FireMaple X2 at a great discount and tested it over the weekend. Here are my thoughts:- The system is quite compact. However, I couldn't tightly close the lid with a 230-gram gas canister inside. - It's disappointing because this is not how it's shown in the ads and description. I assume there might be slightly more compact 230-gram canisters, but I have a standard one. It’s not a major issue since you still can fit everything inside, but you won't be able to tightly close and secure it.- At 14°C with fairly windy conditions, I boiled 1 litre of water on medium stove heat in under 3 minutes. Impressive.- The package includes not one but three insulating sleeves, which is a nice bonus.- Unlike the X1, this model includes a plastic canister stand, which from experience, is better to have than not.- Compared to the X3, the X2 is slightly larger, fitting a bit more than 1 litre of water.- It's too early to comment on durability since I’ve only used it once. I know common issues include the rubber gasket between the canister and stove tearing quickly, and some users report very slow boiling times. - However, low-quality gas might be the cause of this. A friend who introduced me to FireMaple has been using it actively for 3 years without issues.- The set includes a mesh bag for transportation and a stand for regular pots and pans, although it doesn't lock into place. There's also a piezo igniter, but that's standard on all stoves. In summary, this is a great system and a worthy alternative to more expensive models. A few years ago, friends who own an outdoor gear shop told me that, but I only got to confirm it now. The main advantage of such systems is the significantly faster boiling time compared to regular stoves, which almost always require a windscreen. If portability is important and you consume mostly dehydrated food while travelling, this cooking system is a justified investment. As for whether it's a worthy alternative to a much more expensive and well-known brand – absolutely yes. In terms of build quality, FireMaple is on par with, if not superior to, the competition.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great value for money.
We’ve now had this a year and are very happy with it, great value compared to some other brands that do the same thing! Looking forward to using it with our home pressed / brewed cider this year for a nice mulled winter drink. We are going to get a second one, but might try out the Polaris model. It’s light, packs up well and does what it says on the tin. Boils quickly and without issues!
4.0 out of 5 stars Good bit of camping kit
Nice, compact and light to fit my motorbike camping kit, I would suggest getting a small gas canister so it can be stored inside the mug to save space. Used it a couple of times and boiled a brew quickly. Good value, easy to use and reasonable quality.Recommended
5.0 out of 5 stars Quality , quick , excellent product
Brilliant boils water in 2:40 min...quality go on tube and check it out ,included free stove can keep a small gas can inside comes in a drawstring stuff sack ...love it and half the price of a jetboil
5.0 out of 5 stars Great bit of kit
Prefect camping companion, completely replaced our old double burner stove. We struggle for space so any spaces saved is a bonus so this works perfectly for us. Super compact and so easy to use. I’ve cooked on it with big frying pans and boiled fresh water most mornings for my coffee. Boils water quicker than any other burner I’ve used at this size. Highly recommend to any camper
5.0 out of 5 stars Highly recommended, great value compared to others.
Having done loads of research on what is essentially a fast boiling kettle (it can actually be used for much more than just boiling water), I plumped for the Fire-Maple…..and so glad I did! Having tested it out as soon as it arrived, I really can’t see the necessity of paying double or more for another branded version, as it can’t boil water much quicker than this, and even if it does, it’s not gonna justify the extra expense for the sake of a few seconds, unless you’re a brand demon and have to have a specific make. All the extra bits (pan support, gas canister stand, pot, lid) fit well and seem sturdy, and the burner unit itself seems very well made, although be careful when fitting the pot itself to the burner, and don’t over tighten, as it can be a bit awkward to separate from the burner once the water has boiled, the metal parts have expanded with the heat, and you need to remove it, as I found out after the first go. Just turn the pot enough to secure it to the burner, it will stay put, and you really don’t have to twist it very much to secure it. Cools down quickly for re-packing, and a reasonably compact unit once everything is stowed back inside the pot.The ‘black’ version comes with 2 spare neoprene pot covers (3 in total), and Fire-Maple have obviously listened to its customers, as the string carry-bag is bigger now, so packing it away is a doddle and no struggle to fit the unit back into the bag.As with most things, time will tell on the quality, robustness and reliability of the unit, but with a 3 year guarantee, there’s considerable reassurance that it will last well.Overall, am really pleased with this, and after testing, albeit only at home for now, would seriously recommend this item if you’re looking for a solid, fairly priced, jet burner type stove.*Update*Used it lots since buying, and it’s as good as my original review. No issues at all, and boils the water really fast for your brew, and the pot doubles up as a pan for soups and some other tinned goods. For the price and quality, you will not be disappointed with it.

Consigliatissimo!
Perfect for campers and car campers!
We bought this during a Black Friday promotion after my husband had used the JetBoil with some friends on a trip. This works perfectly and exactly the same way as the jet boil. We’ve been using it for about 4 years now, and we love it! Boils water quick for freeze fried foods, French press coffee and more. We have a small camper van and this is a perfect addition to our kitchen box as it takes up very little room and has the igniter integrated so no need for matches or a lighter! In sum- would definitely recommend and have shared the link with multiple friends. If you’re debating between more famous brands and this one, know that it’s got the same function and great quality for a more reasonable price.
