This is such a great piece of kit and inexpensive too. It is sturdy and not surprisingly heavy being ceramic, I have added a non slip silicone mat underneath with double sided tape to stop it “clanking” on my desk. It is perfect for my hobby of painting miniatures and busts as I only mix very small amounts of paint at a time. I could never adapt to a wet pallet. The lid could do with a seal of some sort, otherwise it’s ceramic on ceramic, which still works. I am going to add a pad and parchment paper from my wet pallet so that bespoke shades with endure to the following session. It’s easy to (wipe) clean, no more stained plastic pallets. Thoroughly recommend this, I am delighted with my purchase.

This is a wonderful palette. I had to wait for it to be in stock but am so happy to have it now. You can have so many different colours on the go at once and the surface is lovely and smooth. I love the fact it comes with a lid, so you can safely save paint for later without worrying about dust etc. You can even use the lid as extra palette space if needed. Definitely worth the money I paid, very happy.

This is my 7th MEEDEN palette, I absolutely love this stuff, and this little 12 well palette is ideal for me as I can actually hold it while painting, without my parkinson's tremor kicking in, it might be the weight of it counteracting the tremor, absolutely perfect.

Bought this for acrylic paint when painting miniatures, it's perfect with the small paint wells that are easy to clean. Much better than the cheap plastic and silicone ones I used to have.

I'm loving this little palette which is so convenient and doesn't take up much space on my desktop.Its great for the environment that it's not plastic which I especially wanted to avoid.The size is actually very good for travel but of course its weight is not and I would worry a bit there's the risk of cracking it if it got bashed though tbf it does seems very sturdy. I guess if you got a good padded bag for it and packed your Rucksack carefully you could take it it in the field.(I only paint at home).I rinsed the lid and it's a dream to clean and no stains though I've only had it a few days of course.My only niggle is the lid doesn't fit well, and of course doesn't make a seal though I suppose it doesn't need to. I use the liner it came in (some kind of supple plastic sadly) which helps.Overall super happy with it, it's, exactly what I needed and a very good find. I use it to save the nibs of my Faber Castell watercolour pencils in when they break, also to mix and use the pigment as watercolour paints with a brush.

A neat little pallet

First of all, it's ceramic so it's never going to be brilliant for travelling and, if you drop it, it will probably break or crack. However, I bought this on the advice of an art tutor to whom I complained that I was a novice artist and was struggling to mix my watercolours. She indicated that this was not surprising if I was using a plastic mixing palette and that I should give a ceramic palette a try. I have done now and, hey presto! It does give much better results and mixing is no longer an issue, although I must admit that, having since supplemented my paintbox block colours with some additional shades in tubes, I can mix these quite easily on a plastic palette which I put down to the strength of pigment that comes out of the tube, opposed to that which is in a block and picked up by a brush which has been dipped in water. Nevertheless, I love this palette which does make it easier to mix block water colour (less "bubbling" is the only way I can describe it - when all the paint on the brush all but vanishes into a blob -but there's no "bubbling" in the ceramic palette). The smaller divisions also help (to reduce "bubbling") as do better (thicker) brushes. I still use a plastic palette for mixing larger quantities of colour which will accommodate really large/thick wash brushes. Also, it's really good for holding small dollops of "neat" tube paint prior to mixing. Indeed, in hindsight, I would not have bothered with a paintbox (advised for a beginner) and just gone straight into tubes of paint and create, if you like, my own paintbox using this ceramic palette as it has a lid which keeps your paint "fresh" for use next time, as indeed, it would if you covered your plastic palette (with cling film perhaps). In my opinion, though, this is better, and I am trying to reduce my use of plastic.

I like the palette a lot. The lid offers plenty of space for mixing colours and the 24 wells are ideal to hold freshly squeezed colours from tubes or large amounts on colours previously mixed up. Probably not ideal for travelling as it might break if it falls.
