Works well! Looks nice in kitchen! But a little...weird!

I purchased the 900 watt, stainless steel version of this Farberware microwave. Then, unfortunately, had to put it in storage for about 6 months. It stayed there in the box, untouched. It was kind of a dumb thing to do, but I had family emergencies and traveled a lot. Finally, I began using this a few months ago. It is a very good, reliable microwave. It looks nice. (I think the stainless steel version looks best out of all of them.) It heats food evenly. It heats water in no time at all! Also, it is so much quieter than my previous microwave. (Which did last 8 years, btw.) My only criticism of this Farberware microwave is the heating instructions. If it's a solid number like 3, 4, or 5 minutes, that's fine. I just push that button and it starts. But when cooking a frozen meal for 5 and a half minutes, I need to push "Time Cook" and then "0530." And I wish it was easier to find a "medium" setting. I just use the "Dinner Plate" setting. Anyway, I do like it overall. Pretty good for 100 bucks. I'm glad I purchased it and hope it lasts a few more years, at least! 4 stars!

Door opening

I've had this microwave for about a year now and it works fine, although it seems a little cheap (tinny) compared to my last microwave that was a different brand. My one big complaint is that the door opens from the right to the left but it stops at about a 90 degree angle. Your arm will bump into it when trying to remove hot items with both hands.

Very Happy with it. Only one thing off. See below.

For the record, I am reviewing: Farberware FM09SSE Classic Countertop Microwave Oven 900-Watt with LED Lighting, Child Lock, Easy Clean Interior, 0.9 Cu. Ft, StSo, we wanted a smaller microwave since we have limited counter space and honestly we mostly use it to heat water for tea, and melt butter, or occasionally reheat leftovers. For the price this one was our choice. The only thing I can say about this that is a negative is that the numbers on the pad are printed slightly lower than the actual switch behind the cover. So, in order to press say number 3 you have to press the very top of the square where the three is, and if you press in the center of the square nothing happens. It is the same for all the buttons. Just off by about 2-3 mm. Other than that, I love the thing. Funniest part is that with our old microwave, it took exactly 3 minutes to heat a cup of water to boiling, and with this one that is much less energy, it takes the exact same amount of time. So, we are using less energy and getting the same results. I like it. Same thing for popcorn. I thought for sure it would take longer since it was not as strong, but I guess the size of the inside makes a difference and it works just great. Which means I did not have to relearn times for melting butter, or reheating foods. Yea!!!!

Shipped without crucial part which Farberware could not provide

I bought this based on the name only to find it has little to nothing to do with the Farberware company. They have simply sold their name for another company to use. The unit arrived missing the turntable roller ring. This is a plastic ring which the glass turntable rests upon while rotating and is about 8 inches in diameter with 3 small wheels attached. Without it, the turntable would wobble and rock itself off the drive piece in the center. The stove's instruction say not to use it without the turntable. I contacted customer support (not Farberware) who were very polite and promptly sent me a new ring at no charge. Unfortunately, when it arrived, the 3 wheels attached to it were too large and actually held the glass turntable up off the drive bit in the center. I sent customer service a note including photographs of the problem. They called me back and said that according to their information, what they had sent me was, in fact, the proper part for my microwave. They recommended that I return it to Bolo. I did so.I did read the manual while I was waiting for parts and it seems to have some nice features and capabilities. If I'd had that part, it might have been a great microwave but now its just another great mystery...

Peel away the protective film covering the buttons !

The Faberware seems to be well made, like my larger Panasonic that lasted over 20 years. After unboxing and during first use, the buttons were very hard to push to do anything. I had to use a pencil with an eraser to push hard. The next day I noticed that at the bottom of the number panel area, a small yellow plastic tab said something so I grabbed that and started to lift and peel off a thick film. The protective film is hard to see and has a strong adhesive layer. Once removed, the buttons are much easier to push ! One reviewer said the oven lasted 6 months, another reviewer said 1 year 5 months. Will try to update this review in August 2025. Update Aug 2025 it still performs very well, no problems easy to use. I like that pressing 1 will give you 1 minute, 2 gives you 2 minutes, etc. If you want 1 min 30 sec, use the 0 button quick program feature.
