    Good thanks

5.0 out of 5 stars E10 killed my car's performance & M.P.G. - This MIRACULOUSLY restored both to previous E5 levels.

    D. · 16 December 2021

When E5 was the 'standard' unleaded fuel my trip computer would show a range of 470 - 480 miles on a full tank. In real life I would actually get 42 - 44 to the (U.K. Imperial) gallon around town, or 48 - 52 on a longer haul trip.Enter E10 as the new 'standard' unleaded & by the time it came to the third full tank the trip computer was showing a range of 400 miles, 33 - 35 around town & 40 - 42 on the longer journeys. The car was sluggish in response to the accelerator & at times sounded a bit rough.Did a bit of research & found this product was well thought of in the U.S. & was much better value than some of the U.K. brands that were jumping on the new U.K. E10 fuel additive bandwagon.Action:-Put 100ml of this into half full tank & topped up to full (50ltrs). This was approx. a 25% overdose, but for a first treatment would not do any harm. Trip computer showed expected range of 400 miles, same as previous full tanks.Result:-Two days & 28 miles later the Trip computer was showing 435 miles range remaining. The car is running much more smoothly, quieter & responding to the accelerator much better than it had been for the last couple of months. Now 260 miles since filling up & using this treatment with computer showing 215 miles remaining & M.P.G. of 43.3 so far on this tank full. THE NUMBERS SPEAK FOR THEMSELVES!IMPORTANT POINTS TO NOTE:-BEWARE - All measurements on the bottle refer to U.S. standards & are very different to the old U.K. Imperial measurements of fluid ounces, pints & gallons. A U.S. pint & gallon are both much less that the old Imperial pint & gallon. The important thing to understand is the mixing ratio which is 1:640 by my calculations, but this is not stated on any of Lucas Oil's literature or data sheets that I can find.At the bottom of the listing on Bolo, in the product description section, it states 30ml of product will treat 18.9 litres of petrol. This description is almost spot on for the 1:640 dilution ratio.BOTTLE SHAPE & VOLUME MARKINGS ON LABEL - The shape & size of the bottle makes it impractical to pour straight from the bottle into the tank without major mess & spillage thus no accuracy to the volume actually used. The volume markings on the label are basically useless due to the curvature of the shoulder of the bottle. A more accurate & controlled method of measurement & actually getting it into the tank would be very helpful.MY SOLUTION:-I use a syringe (various sizes from Bolo) intended for measurements in the lab or feeding animals etc., and a length of clear P.V.C. tube, normally used as airline for aquariums (various sizes, again from Bolo) attached. Fill the syringe with the required volume of treatment, attach to about 33cm of tube, remove petrol filler cap & push tube past the spring loaded plate at the top of the tank filler, inject treatment into tank, remove syringe from tube & refill syringe with air, re-attach to tube & blow last of treatment into tank, remove tube & syringe from tank & replace filler cap. This works well for me and is much safer than messing around with cans of fuel.COSTINGS:-Bottle of product cost under £12 & will treat 6.5 x 42 litre tank fills. Lets say £2 per tank fill.Extra mileage per tank with this stuff will be between 50 - 60 with better performance & extra protection to the car fuel system & engine. £2 for an extra 50 miles!!! No brainer!!!

I bought this for my old VW Camper and added the treatment September this year before it went back to sleep in my garage for the winter. My only warning is if you have an integral garage be very careful as just recently, we noticed a very petrol like smell entering the house and after investigation it was coming from the garage via my old van.Strange as it has only just suddenly done this and i had not noticed any smells before? The van has no leaks so i am taking it out to top up the tank in the hope it will weaken the mix of petrol to additive. That aside the van does seem to run a little better but have noticed a bit of smoke out of the exhaust since adding it.

5.0 out of 5 stars So far so good in both cars!

I bought this as I have an old classic Beetle that needs a fuel conditioner as we can only get E10 now in Ireland. Seems ok in the Beetle so far!I've recently started using it in my Toyota hybrid where my fuel economy had really fallen over the past year. I initially blamed a new roof rack but then realised the fuel had changed to E10. I've only used it twice on 2 full tanks of petrol. Fuel economy is almost back to where it was pre-E10 fuel. So it's clearly doing something positive. As mentioned, there's no real way to measure when pouring this into the car, so I just use a small 30ml kitchen container & that works perfectly.

5.0 out of 5 stars This stuff is amazing

A couple of weeks ago the engine light came on on my car. The mechanic said he'd found grey slime on my spark plugs and changed them. He asked where I get my fuel so I told him sainsburys. He advised against supermarket fuel as it damages people's engines. He also said that the new E10 fuel in the UK is not liked by a lot of engines and he recommended getting a fuel conditioner to add to my tank. I'd never heard of this and was also annoyed that our government is firstly allowing supermarkets to sell fuel that damages engines and secondly that they are saying E10 is compatible with engines 2011 and newer when it obviously isn't.The mechanic said he would have put some conditioner in then but my tank was full and it has to be put in an empty tank.So I bought this and waited for my tank to go down and just when my tank had reached less than a quarter full the engine light came on again. I put this fuel conditioner in and filled up with non supermarket fuel (actually found some E5) and took it back to the garage the next day to do another diagnostic but by the time I got to the garage the engine light went off again. This fuel conditioner must have shifted something in the engine and cleaned it out as it also sounds a bit quieter. This has been a life saver for me and has potentially saved my engine and me a lot of money in repairs

5.0 out of 5 stars I was sceptical about thi, but it does seem worthwhile

Having seen all sorts of srticles about the harm done to engines by using E10 petrol, I thought I'd give this a try. Impossible of course to tell whether it's protecting the engine, but I have noticed a definite improvement in the miles per gallon I'm getting from the car. It was be good if they included some sort of top to the bottle which measured the product out, the current system is impossible. Especially since nobody waits till their car is empty then buys a full tank, so you're having to add varying amounts of this product each fill-up, depending on how much petrol you've bought. I bought a cheap long-stemmed plastic funnel which pops easily into the petrol tank, and use the transparent top off a can of hair laquer which I've marked in 10ml amounts. Makes adding the product easy and quick, without mess.
