Bought this to use on my smart tv I needed to format it first as the tv couldn't find it this I did on my iPad inserted the drive and the tv then found it right away have recorded and set dimmer recording all have performed well note you can only watch what your recording as most tv's don't have duel runners like video or sky boxes I highly recommend this product
