As a peri or fully menopausal woman, it is very easy to market a product that promises to remove all the crippling symptoms; hot flushes, night sweats, insomnia, the tiredness all day, brain fog, dryness, limp hair, dry skin, itchy scalp, palpitations, dry down there, anxiety, achy joints etc etc, the list goes on. Over the years I have tried them all and I mean ALL. In the early days, sage gave me some relief then red leaf clover then soya isoflavones. I too sang their praises but the reason they worked was not because of the supplement itself but the fact that I was in peri menopause when my body was still making enough oestrogen to ward off the horrors of menopausal symptoms. Slowly but surely, they all lost their effectiveness and now that I am fully in the menopause, nothing and I mean NOTHING works. Nothing.I've spent hundreds of pounds on supplements some of which I found to be nothing more than a multivitamin,, diet changes, exercise, yoga, essential oils, magnets, high protein diet, weight training, acupuncture, no caffeine. Its been about 7 years that I started to have hot flushes and night sweats and tiredness all day. It feels like I haven't had a decent nights sleep this century. Eight hours a night? I barely do five and if you factor in removing soaking wet pyjamas during the night, laying towels on damp sheets and turning over the damp duvet, probably even less. Friends and family say that the symptoms subside over time but I see no sign of that just yet.Menofriend like the others promised so much that I fell for the hype. It has done nothing at all. The only thing that I have heard works a treat is HRT but for a number of health reasons I am not a candidate and in fairness for personal reasons I probably wouldn't touch it anyway.By all means try Menofriend, there are women that sing its praises and I'm happy for them but manage your expectations before you spend more money. Me ? I'm off to find my fan. I feel a hot flush coming on right now.
