I'd previously tried a few different make-shift methods to try to cut a tile to the right size, but didn't realise how easy a device like this made the task. The metal buttons tighten pretty well, holding the shape, although I was conscious of holding the shape horizontal. The only negative I've found with the device is that the metal buttons are quite short and so there's not much forgiveness between loosening the shape and the buttons coming apart.Though for the price, I'd certainly recommend the product to others.

bought this aluminium multi-angle ruler to speed up two jobs on my bathroom refurb: tracing the odd 45° cuts around pipework in the new wall tiles and scribing the mitred joins on a laminate work-top. It’s now promoted from “handy gadget” to “permanent spot in the tool bag.”The build feels spot-on for site work. Thick anodised aluminium arms won’t bend out of true even when you tighten the knobs with gloved hands, and the etched metric/imperial markings stay readable after a dust-covered day on the tile saw. Setting the tool is dead simple: loosen the four knobs, fold the arms to match the corner or contour, clamp them down, and carry the whole template straight to your tile or board. Zero slip means the angle transfers exactly—no second-guessing with a protractor and pencil line.What really sold me is the repeatability. For the work-top I had six identical cut-outs for sink supports; once the ruler was set, I knocked all six out in under twenty minutes with a jigsaw, each piece bang-on. Same story with the herringbone shower wall: one template, multiple perfect tile notches, no wasted blanks.Nit-picks are minor. The tightening knobs are chunky (great for grip) but can snag in a crowded toolbox, and at full extension the ruler is long enough to feel a bit unwieldy in tight alcoves. Otherwise, it does exactly what it promises, saves off-cuts, and keeps the swear jar empty.If you cut anything that isn’t a perfect rectangle—tiles, decking, pavers, plasterboard—this little black aluminium spider pays for itself in wasted material alone. Highly recommended for tilers, carpenters, and any DIYer who hates measuring the same angle twice.

Great piece of kit if you have awkward marking out of woodwork. Was able to get near perfect scribing and cuts to start with. Unfortunately after a while the tightening nuts stated to loose their grip and would move as I was transferring it to the wood. Good for a small DIY job

Money well spent and time saved, This is a great tool, I build custom wardrobes and have to scribe shelves around unpleasant alcoves in chimney breasts etc, so this device is a godsend, I seen some negative reviews that it was flimsy and comes loose, it’s true that it comes loose if you don’t tighten all the knobs, you have to be very careful when transferring it to the piece you’re cutting, I’m going to see if I can modify it with some better washers and see if it tightens any better. Must have for my job, definitely saved me at least an hour yesterdy
