Glad I didn't get it wrong and no way will I ever get it off! It is stuck firm, doesn't move, despite only 3/4 being stuck down and perfect for the sucker thing on my phone cradle. Mine is tucked to the side, but the shiny surface might be an issue in the middle of hte dashboard.

UPDATEAfter reading my review the seller contacted me and offered a refund. Although this does not address the quality issues, it definitely says a lot for their customer service, and I was grateful for the gesture.——————————Bought this to ensure that my suction-based wireless phone charger remained stuck to my dashboard in my car. That’s the whole purpose of this thing.Regrettably, none of the discs received remained stuck for more than 48 hours. This renders them entirely unfit for purpose.And, when you consider that the net result of failure is my phone and my charger falling into my footwell whilst driving, this has the potential to be extremely dangerous.Avoid, avoid, avoid.

Used one on the polka-dot section of windscreen up behind the rear view mirror, in order to take a dashcam sucker (they can't maintain suction on the polka-dots). Really good adhesion, well worth paying that bit extra for a disc with 3M tape instead of some cheap generic tape.Used the other to hold a TomTom satnav sucker to the dashboard. Seems pretty good so far.

I have a 13 year old car, which sadly does not come with any of the lovely mod cons like a wireless phone charge pad or dab/bluetooth/touchscreen. So I had to old school it and by a Bluetooth plug and a stand for my phone. But the suction cup was useless. So I thought I'd try these pads and it has been perfect! The pad needs approx 24 hrs to fix in place, you might need to press it down every now and then if it's on a curved surface. But once it's on, it doesn't move and anything attached to it won't move either!!

As with all sticky pads it depends on the surface you are sticking too and no matter how well you clean it, some pads just do not stick very well.The idea of these is that you create a flat smooth surface to attach a suction cup device, but sadly the sticky fails when you attach something to the pad.Objects in a car move and unless the pad is really well glued down, then the object, be it mobile phone or sat nav will just not be held in place. The concept is good but the supposed 3M pads(doubtful of that) just do not stick the pad down well enough.My dash like a lot of car dashboards it a sort of textured and mottled appearance, which would need a very good pad to work.

With the weight of the iPhone 15 Pro Max, I decided to mount my phone holder to the dashboard of my work truck, instead of the windshield. Since it’s the dead of winter in Washington DC I had to be thoughtful in the installation. I first got my dash board warm by running the defrost on high on my way into work. I placed the disk in my pocket to warm up, then washed the area well where I decided to place it. I used 2 alcohol wipes inspecting each pass for cleanliness. While the alcohol dried I put the disk on the heater vent for a few minutes then peeled the plastic off and stuck it where I needed it. I also had access to a 20 pound stainless steel bearing from a tunnel boring machine that could apply equal weight to the disk and when I wasn’t driving that day, rested this weight on it for the 24 hours that is required to cure. Needless to say, in the 3 days since installation and despite the extreme cold, and lousy roads in the capital, it is still holding. I’m happy with the purchase.
