Description:
It is now time for Jason Voorhees to boldly go where no serial killer has gone before in Jason X, a spectacular sci-fi twist on the Friday the 13th franchise brought to life by legendary special effects supervisor Jim Isaac (Gremlins, eXistenZ).
The year is 2455, humanity has left an overly polluted Earth for a new planet they’ve christened Earth II. A crew of scientists on an expedition to Earth I discover a research facility near Camp Crystal Lake where Jason Voorhees’ body has been cryogenically frozen. They decide to bring him back on their spaceship, but in doing so they seal their doom! As they depart once again for the furthest stars, the masked maniac awakens, ready to kill again!
With fan favourite Kane Hodder returning as Jason this time sporting a new space age look, and some of the most creative kills in all of slasherdom, Jason X is a rollicking blast from take-off to landing!

I'm not a hardcore fan of this franchise but am pretty sure I'd seen most if not all of the films over the years at one point or another, other than for this one. Halloween H2O was the last one I saw before this, which I thought was really good.Had meant to watch this for a while but Jason in space sounded really suspicious and I thought this was going to be terrible so didn't priortise it, then whilst in the mood for something cheesy thought I'd give it a go. It was surprisingly not too bad at all! I really liked the sci-fi aspect and thought they'd put some great effort in on that front - this side of the film looks great and has been developed well, and far more seriously then I'd imagined. They've managed to insert the expected familiar aspects of a Jason fueled horror into a very different setting pretty much seamlessly and it could be a great stand-alone sci-fi horror even without Jason featuring with a few tweaks. It is a Friday 13th film though and this isn't sidelined, so fans of the series will still enjoy that side of things too and that part has a good mix of Jason horror/terror, gore and a a touch of comedy too.The script wasn't always great (but who's expecting it will be with a film like this?), it's a little cheesy here and there and some parts are slightly dated, but overall I thought this was a great, entertaining horror with a decent looking sci-fi backdrop and better than average story-line to extend the Friday 13th franchise.

Classic film. Just wish we could of seen Jason more upgraded. But this will always get 5 out of stars for the tech we had back then. Class. Need a re make of Jason, what was last one Freddie vs Jason? That would be something to look forward to. And the lines in this movie are just funny as hell. If ya like gore with a raunchy, evil funny twist. Then this is for you.

There was far to many of these films made that shouldn't have been this is in my opinion one of the weakest in the series but still has fun with it, cameo from David cronenberg for one then user Jason fighting a cyborg who is obviously an advanced sex doll for its creator set in space and the future

What do you mean horror movie? Trust me, it's not. This is a silly, silly parody of slasher horror tropes and it has me laughing from start to finish every time. A true classic from the 2000s.
