5.0 out of 5 stars Great scope and excellent value

(function() { P.when('cr-A', 'ready').execute(function(A) { if(typeof A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel === 'function') { A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel('review_text_read_more', 'Read more of this review', 'Read less of this review'); } }); })(); .review-text-read-more-expander:focus-visible { outline: 2px solid #2162a1; outline-offset: 2px; border-radius: 5px; } Really good scope for the money. Sharpe and bright with no fringing. Colour good. Darkens a bit at x60 but still reasonably sharpe and useable. Dual focus knob is great, allowing a light touch for final focus so not to wobble when on a light tripod. Well built and light to carry. Nice protective jacket. Definitely recommend for birding.

5.0 out of 5 stars Generous.

    M. · 25 May 2025

A protective sleeve is smart and well designed, so you don't need to remove it as it has detachable lense front and eyepiece back side leaving a tripod attachment and a double speed focuser outside. An image is BRIGHT, sharp and clear without any imperfections I could notice at all (call me lucky) up to a maximum of its zoom. Is its price justified comparing to a cheaper model - I have absolutely no idea, but between my cheap zoom binoculars and 5" Mak telescope, this is a most reasonable replacement for my 25x75mm binoculars. Don't be ever fooled with any videos showing magnification compared to an eye view which is always presented as the one taken by phone's camera (waay from being realistic). x60 is not much but is spot on maximum like for a 80mm front lense. Everything makes good sense.

5.0 out of 5 stars TRUE VALUE FOR MONEY

    s.b. · 29 January 2025

blown away by the build quality of the svbony SV406P, the quality of image is exceptional, as is the ease of operation.I am a semi professional standard photographer, and will use this for for wildlife spotting on the west coast of Scotland and the other Hebrides in conjunction with my camera and video work. I also has a peek at the moon and planets last evening thro the SV406P and can honestly say I will perhaps be doing some astro photography as the image was stunning.. I have also bought the DSLR camera adaptor kit and a little gadget with which you can also attach a mobile phone. A very happy purchaser and will be purchasing more equipment from Svbony. for your ref I paid almost £300 for the SV406P, and note its now come down in price by £10 with a further 5% off at the time of writing this review in jan 2025. enjoy

5.0 out of 5 stars A great scope for the price

    B. · 14 February 2025

I chose this scope above others in the same price bracket because it allowed me to easily change out the supplied eyepiece. This allowed me to easily use my preferred Bader MarkIV - making this a superb option, and putting the scope into a much higher price bracket. To do justice to the scope 'as supplied', I did spend a couple of days using the 'given' eyepiece. This was not bad at all, and someone buying the scope 'as seen' would have little to complain about. Even looking at the moon, there was little fringing or distortion.(These are my own thoughts on an item I have purchased)

5.0 out of 5 stars Much better than my old scope

    U. · 30 November 2024

It took me a while to eventually give up on my old telescope and binoculars and splash out on this spotting scope. I wanted a scope to cover daytime and night-time viewing and after months of research this spotting scope fitted the bill. I ordered, I waited, and when it arrived I was like a little kid on Christmas Day.In all this excitement I had forgotten about a good tripod, again my old cheapo one was ready for the bin so I packed away my new scope and researched for a good steady tripod with a budget of £100. My research led me to this tripod https://www.Bolo.co.uk/dp/B0BVFBV1KS?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_titleSadly the first tripod got lost in the post 😕 so Bolo re-ordered and it arrived 3 days later.I set up the tripod in my bedroom and fitted my new scope, at last I could see what this scope could do. It totally out performed my old scope, the image of my surroundings was crystal clear, even through a window. The zoom works nice and smooth as does the focus (the outer small focus wheel is for fine focusing, it is very ‘loose’ but I read this is normal). The scope comes with a very nice protective carry case which I haven’t used yet.A few days later the night sky was clear albeit I live in a well lit town so there is a lot of light pollution. My first test, Saturn, my online sky map showed me where Saturn was, a small tiny dot to my eye, I aligned the scope to where Saturn was, keeping the zoom at 20. After a few minutes observing I was convinced I had Saturn in view of my eyepiece so I zoomed to 60, wow, I could see Saturn and its rings in very good detail, I was pleasantly surprised.I have now ordered a 5mm eyepiece to give me a magnification of 86X, hopefully I’ll be able to see objects even closer. Highly recommend for the nature and night sky lover.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great scope

    P. · 15 July 2024

Bought for my son as a graduation gift, he didn’t know he was getting it and absolutely thrilled with it. Nice and clear and can see for miles, bird watching just gone up a notch. No complaints here! Will need a stand as quite heavy to hold. Just bought the cheap one from Bolo basics for now-works well but will probably upgrade in time.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great quality optics

    K. · 19 June 2025

Spot on! I have the non ED version and I like that. This is definitely an upgrade, it is brighter (especially at full zoom). The protective cover is so much better. Feels like a great quality scope. The fine focus is great. Highly recommend and I don’t think you could get better without spending 10x more (and is it 10x better?)
