The Fratellis seem to be a strangely divisive band!I know people who really dislike them and others who really love them!I have tended to sit somewhere in the middle but more towards liking them. They have some great tunes, for sure, but never really followed up on Costello Music which was a stunning debut album.That is until now.Half Drunk Under A Full Moon is superb from start to finish. There are, of course highlights such as the title track plus Lay Your Body Down, The Last Songbird, Oh Roxy! and the superb album closer Hello Stranger but the other 5 tracks are also very good and the whole album demonstrates that Jon Fratelli is truly a master of melody.For me this is the best Fratellis album since Costello Music because of it's beautifully charming melodies. There aren't really any typical barnstorming old school Fratelli songs on here and the guitar is largely under stated but that just adds to it's brilliance. It's all about the delightfully crafted songs with such delicious melodies.Half Drunk Under A Full Moon is a wonderful place to be.

This is one of the most stunning albums I've heard for a long time. I bought it after hearing ' Need a little love ' on the radio, which is such a lively, uplifting song. There are some gorgeous , haunting melodies as well .A wonderful, creative album .

Have all the cd’s by the Fratellis ( & Jon Fratellie ) & had to wait over a year because of the delay in the release , presume COVID , however WOW love it well worth the wait , 10 new songs , great !

This one just isn’t hitting me. There are some good tunes here, and as always the musicianship and lyricism are top notch. I dunno, just not feeling this one.
