These Sakura sketchbooks are the perfect cheaper alternative. They have a paper pocket in the back, a ribbon to keep your page and two elastic bands - one for holding the book closed when travelling and one to hold your fave pen or pencil! Highly recommend these sketchbooks :)

I bought this in hopes that it would work nicely with the alcohol markers that I recently got. Unfortunately, due to the paper not actually being white but a cream colour, it offsets/changes the colour of the markers I use. Also, It does not seem to hold the ink well - perhaps I have simply not figured out how to work them but still, it's a bit of a letdown. It seems to be nearly impossible to find a good sketchbook that holds alcohol markers well in the UK, that are of this size.I like the size of the book, and the look and feel of it. This is ideal for those that like to sketch, I don't know how it works with other mediums. And to be honest with you, I'm always happy to have a new sketchbook, considering I go through them quickly. Definitely can see someone using this book for pen drawings

Looks nice, paper inside is great, but the reason for the 3 stars is that it smells fishy. I opened it a week ago and left it thinking that woth the cellophane off the smell would go but it hasn't. I just can't bring myself to sketch in it because of the smell, Shame as its a nice looking book and a decent size for on the go sketching. Delivery was as expected
