Decent price, is really addictive and goes on basically anything. Tastes really good, and calories are high but the flavour is potent enough that you don’t need too much of it.

I saw someone talking about this on an online chinese takeaway group. So decided i'd give it a try. OMG!!! it is fecking wonderful stuff! I have it on pizza's, toasties, chips, vegetables, rice and much, much more. It has a lovely crispyness, provided by the crispy onions, chilli's and dry roasted soyabeans. Along with the chilli heat from the oil, and the umami from the salt.I did find that when i got to the bottom of the first jar, it was starting to get quite salty, so i added a little bit more vegetable oil, and stired well. I'm now at the bottom of the 5th jar i bought. My recommendations are:Buy a bag of dry roasted, salted soy beansBuy a bag of crispy fried onionsWhen the jar content starts to go down (and the saltiness increases), ad a wee bit more veg oil, some soy beans and some onions. It doesn't dilute the "chilli-ness", but lessens the saltiness and increases the crunchy-ness. If i felt the chilli heat was dropping too much, i'd add more chilli flakes. Give it a good stir, when ever you open the jar, and with the slight aditions, you can make the jar last longer, until your next fix.

Absolutely fantastic as a garnish. 🌶"Honestly, this chilli oil is the naughtiest product in the world; it feels like it is everything that is lush about Chinese food. It’s not too hot and spicy, but it’s clearly chilli. It’s that crunch, that crispness, that saltiness, those lovely umami flavours.I put it on absolutely everything. I order four jars at a time. There’s a black bean one as well but the crispy chilli is texturally the best. I always use it as a condiment to finish, or as a seasoning, because it’s so salty. Anything that’s a bit soft, where you want a bit of crunch on the top, it’s perfect for. On cauliflower cheese, macaroni cheese, sprinkled on an omelette, on cold meats. A couple of nights ago I just put it on a piece of brie. Lush."

Well, it is what it says it is and it is, in my opinion, very nice too. It can be added to marinades, as an accompaniment, or added to rice or stir frys. It's one of those quirky things which you will either love or hate.

Really enjoying this and I'm glad I bought a 4 pack, cos it's going fast.Flavour is slightly sweet, MSG content noticeable. Heat mild - medium. Not a scorcher, by a long way.Very crunchy. More than expected.Jar lids don't seal well, so don't lie on its side after opening. You can guess how I found out.

Every UK household should have this, not a clue if it's popular in Asia but it's so good I only buy this is packs of 4-6 now. Big on flavour and texture, mild heat, and goes with almost everything.I probably wouldn't use this in many/any recipes but it excels as a condiment. I've gifted jars to others and converted them too. You're next ;)
