Very Sturdy and Innovative System

I like it much better than slat or peg boards. Each accessory has a spring loaded locking pin that keeps them locked into the track until you need to move it. It is a simple procedure to press the lever and remove the accessory.The single and double hangars in this kit will get you started but you will most likely want to expand more.These hangars are very sturdy and heavy duty. I think each one can hold up to somewhere around 30 lbs though I haven't been able to find exact weight ratings on them.There are so many accessories available for the X-track system and that is the big appeal.You can get plastic bins, wire baskets, trash bins, locking metal cabinets, tools holding trays, hose caddy, sports ball holder, sports stick holder, a bottle opener, fire extinguisher holder, all sorts of arm brackets like these, shelf brackets, foldout work top brackets, a shoe and boot cleaning brush and more.The tracks themselves are heavy and solid. I like the many 1/4" holes that are drilled along their edges. You can surely find a stud with this many holes to choose from.There are these black matte finished tracks, zinc silver tracks, longer tracks, a short single X track. There are a good amount of options. You might wonder what the singe X track would be for? CargoSmart shows 2 of them mounted to the side of a workbench to hold a trashcan. Or you could mount 2 to the floor to hold the shoe and boot cleaning brush in place. These tracks are not just limited to the garage, they can also do well for sporting goods areas, hobby areas like tool sheds, gardening sheds. You can also use them on trailers too which I think was CargoSmart's original product offerings.Anyways, if your looking for a very strong and capable storage system that is mature and proven with a lot of accessories and options, you may want to further explore the X-Track System. I think it is great. 5 stars.

Stronger than other kits I've used previously

The CargoSmart kit is very heavy duty and versatile. I used it in my shed to hang a variety of tools and accessories that were just too heavy to hang on my peg board. The metal is very thick and coated with a thick layer of paint and the attachments are also very thick with the ability to hold a lot of weight. My one complaint with the system is that the steel plate was not wide enough to span the studs in my shed. Granted, they are more than 16" apart but so is the plate. I compensated by adding a piece of plywood first but it would have been nice not to have to do that. Other than that, I like the kit a lot.

I rarely get to leave 5 star reviews these days. Been doing this a long time and I am pretty hard to please. That said, this product blew my socks off. I had one of the guys put this up in the equipment shed. Talk about sturdy! First off the box this came in only has one section and 3 hooks. It was so heavy the mail guy was grunting when he laid it down. Well constructed and clearly thought out. I am really impressed with the quality and the versatility. We are going to figure out how many more of these we can use and actually buy some.

Great kit for customizing tool storage.

Being organized is essential on a farm - and the amount of equipment we have was getting totally out of hand. We took this kit and made a storage area in categories of tools - so now we can find everything! We were fortunate to have a barn and tack room - and no horses, so now that tack room has become the “go-to” place for just about all farm equipment. Great system for organization.

Great item and fits so nicely on outside of our shed!

One of the things that we had missed when we moved into our new home was the ability to hang the ladders on the outside of the shed rather than having them on the ground. These X-Track essentials kit are just the right thing to hand the long extension ladders out of the way and yet have them handy when needed.This is very heavy gauge steel and finished in such a manner that they will not rust! Great idea for the DIY in your household or just to store those things that you want to hang up without being obtrusive! Very good item!
