The design of this is really compact, even as micro food processors go, with the body of the thing essentially a neat cylinder. The base is no wider than the bowl part of the jug. This has really simple controls – a single switch flicks between two speeds and processing functions only when you press down on a button at the top of the jug, where the lid aligns with the jug handle. The food processor is attractive-looking in KitchenAid’s classic Almond Cream colour. A very neat and smart-looking little device.In use, the blade is sharp and effective. Capacity-wise, this is large enough to make roasted red pepper hummus using a can of chick peas and a couple of roasted red peppers (as well as garlic, tahini, lemon juice, aqua faba, and seasoning), but wouldn’t hold much more. I pictured this making stuffing for Sunday lunch – and had to divide the bread in my photo into two batches to make crumbs. As well as decent-sized batches, this copes pretty well with smaller quantities too, such as chopping herbs. There’s a really useful little well in the lid to allow liquids to be drizzled in without needing to open the lid.The mini choppers that come with hand blenders used to be amongst my favourite, and most frequently used kitchen gadgets – but I have wrecked a couple by not having the lids quite aligned correctly (on one, this cracked the pot, on the other stripped the thread where this was supposed to connect to the blender handle). This little stand-alone mini chopper doesn’t have that problem. Like a full-sized food processor this simply won’t work unless base, blade, and lid are all correctly aligned. At just under 70cm, the power cable isn’t hugely long – but should be adequate for most worktop area plug sockets. Jug, lid, and blade are all dishwasher safe, so this is extremely easy to keep clean.

Why did you choose this product over others?:An excellent mini food processor that holds a surprisingly large amount. Easy to use & easy to clean. Takes up very little space on the worktop. Chopping ingredients for soups, casseroles etc has become a piece of cake.

I wanted a direct replacement for 15 year old one and this is that. They haven’t ’updated’ or ‘improved’ the design because this is just perfect for the job.Hopefully they will still exist in 2040.

Simple to assemble, and does a great job. I use it mainly for when I need a very fine Soffritto and for pureeing small batches. It's fairly easy to clean too.

Brilliant bit of kitchen equipment. Just be careful of how the bowl and lid are handled as the plastic is easily shattered if dropped. That’s why I’ve not given 5 stars

Once you get the hang of locking it anti-clockwise !!! It’s great. Leave it on the worktop and it’ll chop almost anything quickly. Quicker than doing parsley with a knife. No dragging out the ‘big machine’. Chops my veg ready for my soup maker … cooks quicker.Buy the best-buy once.
