I bought this to do some analysis / scanning on a 3rd party device that communicates via Modbus RTU (RS485).The device seems well made, and the metal case is durable enough that it will last for many years (provided that I don't lose or misplace it like I did with the previous device I had).It works perfectly with ModScan and also CAS Modbus Scanner tools. Laptop running Windows 10. No issues at all.Very well priced, and highly recommended to others. You will not be disappointed.

I found this and while it designed to be mounted in an enclosure, it's fairly small and worked within seconds of connecting to my laptop.A perfect connectivity tool for all of my RS484/RS232 requirements, perfect for the engineers toolbox.

I ordered this because my previous usb to "rs232" cable didn't actually have true rs-232 voltage levels, I needed it in order to program a curtis golf-cart motor controller... As soon as I plugged in this Waveshare box, worked instantly! Windows 10 found the driver on it's own, and within mere minutes of unboxing; I was in business programming a motor controller for a local guy who had a broken down mobility scooter.The box housing seems really high quality I feel, and its heavy too which I like about it. A+ Waveshare!
