About this item:
Baklava with Nuts and Syrup, Traditional Greek Handmade Pastry, Net Weight 1 kg, inox tray.:
Baklava is a Mediterranean dessert made with Phyllo dough, nuts, butter, and sugar. After baking to perfection, a sweet syrup is immediately poured over the pieces allowing the syrup to be absorbed into the layers.
The history of Baklava changed with the history of the land. Baklava and its recipe had spread to the Mediterranean countries and to all Near East. Phyllo dough is named after the Greek word for " leaf ", being "as thin as a leaf". The thickness (or for that matter, the thinness) of Phyllo gives baklava is delicious crispy taste. So, when you eat a piece of baklava, you may think and taste Greece.
Some baklava contains walnuts. Other variations include pistachios, pine nuts, almonds, or other nuts common to the Mediterranean and the Middle East. Chocolate is a delicious addition also.
In many countries, baklava is an excellent compliment to coffee. Baklava is used in weddings, family get-togethers, and various other feasts and celebrations. We are glad to fill your baklava order quickly and efficiently.

5.0 out of 5 stars It's very moreish!
Have a biscuit tin with lid available to transfer the baklava to, and cover with cling film.Keep the tin it comes in. It is quality and may be reused. As stated; moreish can become addictive. A cup or two of Yorkshire Tea should be taken with it...Control yourself...
5.0 out of 5 stars worth the money, go for it.
This the best authentic Baklava, as good as anything you'll get in Gastro pub or trendy coffee shop... in my opinion. It has the right mix of scrummy syrup, nuts and pastry. I'm sure if you listen closely and carefully, it says "eat me, eat me."
4.0 out of 5 stars Good tasty
Not as expected but it is good for me , as you viewed it. Sweetness normal. Thanks,
1.0 out of 5 stars Terrible atrocity and shameless insult to the Greek baklava
I am a Greek living in the UK, and often I have baklava here that it is less than great. However, it would still be edible.I had high hopes for this baklava, as it is supposed to be Greek. But, unfortunately, it is inedible. The filo pastry is stale and soggy and very hard to chew. The flavour is very odd, reminiscent of toffee, which is not something associated with a baklava. The nuts are almost non existent. And the syrup stays on the top like caramel sauce and is not absorbed into the pastry.I am not quite sure how they managed to create such an atrocity, but they have.Personally, I cannot eat it and it will go in the bin.The name of the producer is Greek, but it is probably made by an Eskimo, can't believe that a Greek person created this and they dare sell it to the UK market! 0 out of 10.
5.0 out of 5 stars Impressive
Bought this for a sweet at a family BBQ. I have to say it was by far the most authentic tasting Greek baklava I have bought outside of Greece. The only problem was that it didn’t travel particularly well as some of the syrup was escaping. However, with much care it didn’t unduly spoil the product.
5.0 out of 5 stars The Best Baklava
Simple the most Authentic Baklava I've tasted. Everything about it is spot on exactly how it should be. When I've finished this tray I will be ordering another.
3.0 out of 5 stars COULD BE BETTER
Tasty baklava, bit of a dry texture even though it has a good amount of syrup (which ends up elsewhere as let down by delivery). It comes in a round aluminium tin and is difficult to remove. Comes out in layers instead of pieces probably due to lack of syrup on actual product.
