Wilkinson DE razor arrived this morning. I'd skipped a shave first thing so I could test it out. I also had stubble on my scalp, so gave it a test on face and scalp.Perfect little razor!!I've wet shaved my whole life and have used plastic polluters for a good few of those years, but for the last five years it's been all metal.I've used double edged, single edged shavettes and cutthroat razors. My last DE razor to yesterday was a clone of the Merkur 34C. It did the job, but didn't really get into the corners that well. Cutthroats are good, but you aren't going to be rushing a scalp shave with one of those unless you want to be...well, err...scalped.Anyhow, I was impressed by this razor. Impressed by it's price, but also impressed by the quality of the shave it offered. Face was done in 5-minutes. No nicks. Scalp was done in 10-minutes. No nicks.The DE gets right up to the edge of the razor, so, makes it easy to get under your nose. It's also great for giving the hairs in your ears a trim as well. Nothing worse than old blokes having Tufts hanging out of their ears 😂😂😂.The angle of the blade being fixed is great. After a minute, I knew what angles I could tilt the razor to without the risk of any nicks. Scalp and face baby smooth - but a lot of that will be down to the Derby DE blades (which I really recommend having used them in shavettes and safety razors).Going to enjoy this little shave buddy. Delivers a quick, clean and easy shave. That deserves top marks from me 👍.

All my life I have never used a razor and instead electric shavers however, over the last year or so, i've had issues with skin irritation.At great expense, I tried Harry's but a) I paid for the upgraded razor and the quality is poor and b) as much as the marketing of any cartridge razor (cough Gillette) claims, "closest shave", "no irritation - smooth with one stroke due to multiple blades", the truth is that the more blades, the more irritation.So, I took the big step to razor shaving and landed on the Wilkinson Sword safety razor, as the top rated on Bolo. Seems like it was a good choice! The razor is superbly made and nice and weighty - it's very clearly a high quality product but for a reasonable price. The blades are fine however, I do think there are sharper out there on the market.Very importantly, shaver waste, to me is disgusting and has to stop. I cannot believe that in 2022 supermarkets still sell "single use disposable" shavers which aren't recyclable (I also can't believe how popular they are). The cartridges are just as bad - all that plastic with metal blades within - most council facilities wouldn't be able to recycle those and it seems a waste in the first place to keep replacing a perfectly serviceable head. Safety razors and single blade "cut throat" are the most 'ethical' of the lot. The only waste is easily recycled wafer thin stainless steel blades and a bit of paper (so long as you buy the right blades - I noticed the Wiklkinson Sword ones come in plastic boxes of 5 which seems mad!).For anyone looking to make the switch and that hasn't used a razor before, I found this very easy, achieved a much smoother shave than I get from my electric shaver and, only got 1 tiny little cut (I mean tiny) on my first go.I am a convert.
