4.0 out of 5 stars Not very strong !
Its an ok coffee bean but I did not enjoy the flavour I tried it once I will not be purchasing it again its just personal taste it was not strong enough for my taste
5.0 out of 5 stars Great product.
Great. I love it. I have it with my porridge every morning. I ordered again.
5.0 out of 5 stars Decent quantity, light roasted coffee beans
Decent, not over roasted and oily. Nice flavour that is not to strong and not bitter.
3.0 out of 5 stars lacked complexity & was a bit bitter
Roast date mid December. Ordered early January when Bolo said only 5 left in stock. Arrived on the 7th. Can't complain about a 3 week turnaround from roasting. Obviously the use by recommendation date is much longer.I didn't start drinking coffee till last year, so can't claim to be an expert. Never tried the likes of Costa or Starbucks. Started with Mochas at local Coffee Cafés, progressing quickly to Espresso. After trying pre-ground Organic Saula in a French press (smooth, with various depths of flavour), I started reading up more on coffee. Consensus was that you loose a lot of the flavour compounds with pre-ground coffee & that grinding your own was a totally different experience - especially if using a burr grinder. My wife keeps a foil bag of the Lavazza Qualita Oro pre-ground in the fridge. They rate as 5/10 strength, with 100% Arabica. I thought I would try something different & went for:Coffee Masters Triple Certified, Organic, Fairtrade, Arabica Coffee Beans 1kg - Great Taste Award Winner 2018 (graded 3/5 strength)I bought a small manual grinder to go with it. There are loads of these on Bolo, but sure they are all made in the same place, with different labelling to make one seem better than another. Gives you a workout, but the downside is it takes 5 minutes to grind enough for 2! Hence my Christmas present was a De'Longhi KG79 Professional Burr Grinder. Neat & works well. The Triple Certified was smooth, with various depths of flavour & after getting used to it, my wife really liked it as a comparison to shop bought coffee.Once that was running low, I ordered the Coffee Masters Colombian for a change. Graded 2/5 strength. Not one either of us has enjoyed. Tends to lack complexity or smoothness & be bitter even at 90 degrees C. I will get more of the Triple Certified for home & pre-grind batches of the Columbian for at work, till that is used up.Observations when eating beans whole:Columbian was darker, more hard/brittle to bite, drier & more bitter. Despite being 10 weeks older, the Triple Certified had been kept in airtight jars, so should not have absorbed much moisture in comparison.Latest brew technique:1. Boil fresh tap water to 90 degrees C. I live in Scotland so it is always soft, only lightly chlorinated & VERY plentiful! Never had to buy bottled water.2. Pre-heat the French press.3. Grind enough beans on a course setting.4. Empty the warming water from the press5. Pour the coffee grounds in. I use a small brush to ensure all the content from the grounds container are in the press, as the plastic sides statically hold a lot stuck on. I also get the extra from the grinder outlet to stop that going stale.6. Just cover with water, stir & leave for 1 minute.7. add the rest of the water & stir.8. Leave for ~2:309. Press & pour straight away. Don't leave any liquid in the press, or it will go bitter. As pre-ground is normally finely ground, you will get much more residue in the mug using a French press than you would with coffee you have course ground yourself.Coffee Masters, it would be great if you would sell 5x 200g varieties of beans, to give us the chance to test them all, before buying 1kg bulk of anything we like. Yes it would be more difficult to stock as fresh & be less environmental, but it is the kind of thing I would only be likely to do once.
5.0 out of 5 stars Best coffee - Coffee Masters Colombian Organic Coffee Beans
I very rarely write reviews, but this is the best coffee I've had from Bolo, strikes a perfect balance of strength and flavour IMO.
5.0 out of 5 stars really nice mild coffee - best I have found
This makes a really good mellow coffee It's my new favourite.
