    Amazing but tedious to build

    A.C. · 15 June 2023

PROS:- built in heater and fan-comes with mantel and the fire screen/heater-280$ total??? Cheapest one available-it’s tall it’s about 58 inches at tallest part- it is also wide about 65 inches. If you have a blank wall that needs decor this will take up a lot of space I feel like it was honestly cheaper to buy this then trying fill in the wall with decor.-storage. We just finished building, so my items are not put on the shelves yet however it has good storage for books, crystals, collectibles, even a small basket of toys for my dog. The shelves are SUCH a bonus for me. I’m always buying shelves because they make a great display. So if you’re a collector/ decor enthusiast, just get it.- very thorough instructions- realistic looking fire/wood it almost looks 3D in person, super cool feature- dimmable light- you can have the heater OFF while enjoying the view. I’ve always loved the view of a fire but where I’m from the weather is warm so we don’t get to utilize our actual fire place enough because it gets too hot.- 4 light adjusting features- remote control operated- free shipping, quick delivery-it’s seemingly great quality so far especially for the price-the black wood is beautiful and around the fire it almost has a grey stone maybe faux granite(?) sort of appearance. It’s super pretty and elegant and matches our room beautifullyCONS:- I’m recovering from surgery so my fiancé built this by himself. It took 10 hours total (2 separate days). He isn’t a carpenter or anything at all but he knows the basics, he is also not a person who heavy lifts anything and was able to put it together perfectly. That being said it’s NOT hard to put together nor super heavy, but TIME CONSUMING AF. It is meant to be a 2 person job but he was able to find his way around that but it did take a bit more time because a screw broke which brings me to my second point- a screw broke, we were able to fix it so we don’t need to contact customer service quite yet but it was a bad screw. We hadn’t even screwed it in, it just broke in my fiancés hand when he took it out of the bag- there are small flaws like gaps in between shelves, fire pit and mantel etc, however if you have putty and paint that isn’t really a problem- remote can be finicky. It has to be directed exactly at the screen. Not a big deal either.- some sizing issues. Things don’t fit together perfectly but you’re able to work with itOverall for 280$ free, fast shipping, for a very large expensive looking mantel and fire place? It’s a steal. Yes it takes effort and focus to put together. But for the results it’s worth it. Even my fiancé said it is worth putting together he says it’s “luxurious” haha. Worth the money from me (and the time from him). Just have patience with it, and take it step by step. Do every single instruction this isn’t something you can glance over. By far one of my favorite Bolo finds and I’d recommend to anyone looking for a fire place. I am using this piece in our master bed but If the living room didn’t have a fire place I’d definitely buy one out there. It looks real and expensive. The little quirks here and there are honestly no big deal due to the price. If this was any more expensive I’d knock a star off but how can I not give it 5 stars?! I’ll be adding pics later.

Several gouges in molding BUT once together It is very nice

    A.C. · 17 October 2020

UPDATE TO REVIEW once assembledProduct arrived with lots of cosmetic damage such as splintered pieces, gouges and chips. Box was damaged as wellThe product comes in many pieces to put together. Get ready to glue in little doles and screw in lots of screw pegs that slide into then cylinders you turn to lock in place. Assemble it on the floor and it says you need 2 people. TRUST IT at least 2 people is needed. Our neighbor helped us due to us both having disabilities that limit our ability to lift, bend, ect. Those that have left reviews about the dill holes needing to be redrilled I can see why they would make this statement. It is a made in China so mass production on a machine. Now for the positive:Once assembled to looks wonderful as we got lucky and the major nicks and dings were on side parts and once painted will not be noticeable. We have a large open 400+ Sq foot apartment and 30 min timer of the heat warmed up our place comfortably in the morning chill. Will see how it fairs when dead of winter hits. The fire appearance is visually appeasing and you have 5 visual settings. As well at a timer and you can turn it on without heat for the visual appeal of having a fire in your home.Overall: Is it worth it. If you are skilled in building furniture and willing to put in half a day to build it. And you have a smaller space to heat I would say a tentative yes. I say tentative cause it seems to be a common issue these days with these type of products that they come with some level of cosmetic damage. We are happy at the end of the day with our purchase but I best it is worth $300 not $400 + we paid.Keep in mind this thing is big once assembled this thing is about 3 1/2 feet long by 4 feet high. So make sure the place you want to put it has the space for it.

Great Electric Fireplace & Shelving Unit!

    B.L.K. · 1 May 2020

Just put this together and it looks amazing. It is sturdy, the flame looks nice and heat output is adequate (It is in a 350 sq ft room) for a very large room. It was missing a piece (kick plate) but I emailed the company and they sent it in the mail. Luckily the piece did not hold up installation.Speaking of installation: after reading some reviews, I thought I may have bit off more than I could handle but was pleasantly surprised of the ease of the directions. There are A LOT of pieces and parts but all labeled and packed well. All the screws, dowels and other hardware are in their own vacuumed sealed bags and labeled 1 through twelve. I got tweleve plastic cups, labeled them 1 through 12 and put each bag in it's appropriate cup. Next I layed out all sections in alphabetical order A through AG before starting installation. Make sure you have a big enough area to lay all parts out.Open directions. There are 25 steps, 4 per step (page). As daunting as this sounds it was not bad. It took several minutes to get used to no written instructions but looking at each picture that shows the labeled part, how many numbered hardware and where they go. The illustrations are large enough to see, and accurate where the holes are for the hardware which makes it easy to see if the part is facing the right direction and is right side up. I give the instructions a grade of a B+ (a critique would be to show/say the cam bolts are actually screwed into their place as it took me several minutes to understand this) and send a bigger size of wood glue as I ran out just using a drop per dowel end.So basically, you put the hardware on four sections of project at a time until you get all pieces fitted with it's corresponding hardware. Place the parts in piles of four (each from it's page) on the floor together. This takes about an hour at a unhurried pace for one person.Next phase is starting to piece sections together by fitting dowels into aligned holes and cam bolts into cam locks. At first I hated lining the cam locks into their holes as it is confusing to which end is open. I did get used to them eventually and they do insure a snug, tight fitted section. (I would suggest to put a colored arrow on the open end of the cam lock for quicker placement.Phase three now it putting your now constructed sections together to complete your project. This phase requires two people to help line and tighten up sections and move the unit around.Overall taking my time this project took me 3 hours at an unhurried pace. I would say most people will have no issue doing this project and the end result is worth the time.I have to add this was packed very well and it left little room for damaged parts during delivery. It did weigh 130lbs. I opened it and removed some parts before carrying it inside. I encourage anyone to buy this.

    Looks nice, has some defects.

    J. · 6 March 2025

Overall, it’s a nice fireplace. There are some defects though, which is why I’m giving it only 3 stars. Something of this price should have better quality control!! Obviously most I didn’t notice until it was assembled. Aside from the blemishes, the material seems decent. Reminds me of Sauder furniture if you’ve ever bought and assembled that. Not solid wood of course but the finish isn’t so fragile that every little thing will hurt it. I dropped a piece here and there and slipped with my drill a couple of times, and those things didn’t hurt it at all. Even with kids and a big clumsy dog, I’m sure this thing will last and look nice for years. The most aggravating defect is the big dent in the front of the insert, and whatever is going on at the top of the right bookcase. There’s also some gaps where the material must have warped some and inconsistencies with the finish. It’s all in the pictures. As far as assembly goes. It was not that bad. I’ve assembled worse. Everything came in one box and I’m glad I was here when it was delivered cause the delivery guys carried it into my living room for me. I probably would’ve never gotten it inside without their help!! I used a small cordless drill for everything except for the screws you need an allen wrench for. Which helped the process be a lot easier and faster. If I would’ve had to use a regular screwdriver…. I don’t know if I could’ve gotten all the cam locks bolts tightened in without help from a guy with stronger hands LOL!! My little drill has adjustable torque which I set to the lowest setting and it worked great for everything, including the cam locks. I did not use the wood glue at all. Not a fan of that and frankly with as many cam locks, you really don’t need it. All of the pieces fit perfectly and it went together easily, following the instructions. Overall it only took me about 2 hours by myself to complete. There were a couple pieces mislabeled….but I had the right pieces, they just had the wrong letter on them.

    Met My Expectations

    J. · 18 October 2020

I’ve been looking for a new television stand/fireplace unit for a while now, and this definitely fit the aesthetic I was looking for in my space; elegant, classy, and (fairly) affordable. The reviews were mixed, which left me hesitant, but I can see where all sides were coming from, so I hope to shed a little light on my experience for other potential buyers. For the complaints on the wood quality/durability of the piece: I see their point, but for the price this unit usually runs at, I think expecting extremely tough or solid wood pieces is a smidge unreasonable. This is pressed wood, a little weaker than Ikea from what I worked with, so keep that in mind. For those complaining of the build times/difficulty: Again, I’m going compare this piece to Ikea furniture. My roommate and I are both seasoned Ikea furniture veterans and found it was a little more challenging, but similar. Between the two of us, it took about three hours to build, but I was the only one doing most of the labor as she had an injured wrist. We also did not have a drill, so everything was by hand. I would recommend working with at least one other person, particularly someone who has a good grasp with perspectives, who can understand where each piece is facing in the pictures. However, one complaint we did have, reflected in my rating, is that the instructions had errors. Twice we had pieces mislabeled, at one point two parts had their letters wrong (p and q, I think), and there was also section where holes were misprinted on the instructions (c and d, I’m pretty sure). Luckily we were able to see that the pieces we had did not fit those holes and adjusted accordingly, but others might really find this confusing. Also, some holes were poorly drilled or slightly misaligned, so keep this in mind too if/when you decide to purchase.Heat/the fireplace unit: I did not buy this as much for the heating aspects, but so far it has worked just as described. I’ll update if it has any major issues.Overall, this is exactly what I was looking for in my price point and met my expectations. I would recommend watching for the lower price range, as I don’t think the higher ranges are a good deal.Good luck and happy shopping!
