The one issue I had with this was that these foam panels were stuck in a bag and then air vacuumed to compress it- which in the hindsight sounds very good!-The issue arrives once you finally do take the panels out of this bag, I left them lying around for 3 days. Some of them decompressed perfectly into the normal size, others did not, by others I mean 7...7 panels were destroyed pretty much because of this bad design.I tried using water and then drying them both outside and inside the dryer in an attempt to open them up but they simply would not open- It was an absolute pain.for the quality of the ones that actually did open up correctly- I don't see a difference between when I had these ones up on my door and when I didn't. I doubt they do anything but yet again you're supposed to buy a bunch of them so they actually do something- now I know however that I will not be buying these in bulk.

They come vacuum packed which is fine. Main reason for 3 stars is you're supposed to leave them in open air and they magically spring to life after a day or so. I had 3 or 4 which refused to plump up and resorted to firing them in the washing machine on the lowest setting to replump them and came out damaged. Hairdryer wouldn't work. I'd rather buy fully plumped up in future. There is a noticeable sound reflection decrease however

Looks alright. You would think foam would be cheaper but I will see if it is actually worth it.Very light and compact.Only 10 out of 12 resized.10/12 probably aren't enough to do much for the sound of a room, incoming or outgoing. Haven't tried yet. Will try when I get a small fridge for my room soon.If you don't have a tumble dryer, a blowdryer works just fine. You'll have to put it pretty close to the foam but it is definitely heat resistant so it'll be okay, however your carpet its on is definitely not so don't heat it up on the floor or the heat will pass through the foam and you might just melt your cheap carpet.Will test the fire resistance on the damaged pads soon.

The media could not be loaded. I used this foam to make a sound deadening box to house a very loud paddle board pump, and I am delighted with the result.Expand the foam using warm water. Wring out thoroughly then let dry for 24 hrs in an airing cupboard or outside if warm enough.The foam is high quality and can be readily stuck to any surface which will accept contact adhesive. I used carpet adhesive spray to coat the rear of the foam, and sprayed the inside of a black plastic recycling box and its lid. I let the glue dry slightly - about 5 minutes - then pressed each piece of foam into place.* it's worth mentioning that it's best to use this type of glue in a well ventilated area *The foam has stuck perfectly and the sound box drops the noise of the pump at 1.5 metres from 85dba to 63 dba.How well it works for you obviously depends on what you're using it for but for my purposes it has worked extremely well and I couldn't be happier. When I'm pumping up paddleboards at my local lake no one bats an eyelid at the noise now, whereas I used to get scowled at..........

Bought this 12 Pack Set of Acoustic Foam Panels hoping to improve the sound quality in my home studio, but it turned out to be a huge disappointment. The foam material is practically useless for dampening sound; it doesn't absorb or reduce noise in any noticeable way. If you’re expecting professional-grade soundproofing, this product isn’t it, hence the low price-tag. Your money is best spend on something a bit more expensive.While the adhesive backing is strong, it’s too strong. Once the tiles are on the wall, they’re nearly impossible to remove without ripping chunks of paint or drywall off. So not only does the product fail at its primary purpose, but it also causes lasting damage to your walls if you try to take it down.==Overall Review==Advantages:Adhesive is very strong, so the tiles stay put.Disadvantages:Foam material does nothing to dampen or absorb sound.Impossible to remove without ruining walls.Poor quality for any studio or soundproofing purposes.In conclusion, I cannot recommend these Acoustic Foam Panels to anyone looking for effective soundproofing. They’re a waste of money and could leave you with costly wall repairs.-Shaker

These are great acoustic tiles! I read the reviews which mentioned hints and tips of how to get them puffed up and installed. I put them in the sink with hot water to get them all puffed up because they arrive very very flat. They puffed up beautifully. I wrung them out. Then my strong husband wrung them out. I put them in the tumble dryer, 6 at a time for 20 minutes on medium heat. Still a bit too wet to put up and with the electricity costing gazillions these days, I then placed them before the fire because I needed them installed pronto for a voice-over recording session in the morning. I think if I had also wrapped them in a towel and pressed more moisture out that would have helped but i didn't. One person mentioned using builder's caulk to install them but that didn't work well for me. Spray contact adhesive is your absolute best friend here, I promise! Spray the wall and the tile, wait about 15 -20 seconds then fit the tile. Instant deadening begins! For my particular use, I placed the tiles around where I am speaking and on the ceiling above where I am speaking. I think I will buy another packet at some point just to fill in a few spaces but you don't really need many. It made a big difference to the quality of the sound. I remember one acoustic specialist saying that some deadening is better than none! I can vouch for that. These tiles are nice and thick and very very easy to put up.

This will definitely speed up the expansion process when you take them out of the package (also eliminate that chemical smell...if any)A decent size, and cool pattern for any home or professional studio. I noticed a huge difference in my audio after placing these on my wall. That being said, I didn’t stick this directly to my wall, instead I used an adhesive and applied it to a board, and hung it on my wall. Worked all the same.Definitely a good investment. Highly satisfied.

The tiles look good. I cut them to fit the pattern I picked. I had to use an exacto knife because it went a lot better than scissors. They don’t stop the noise from my neighbour, they absorb it. There’s no insolation in the wall that separates our apartments, so when her boyfriend is there it’s like they’re living with me. I have been looking for temporary and cost effective solutions, this helped, in the sense that it reduces the echo. The sound doesn’t travel through the apartment, but I can still hear them when I’m near the area where they hang out the most.I would buy these tiles again because they help with the quality of sound in my apartment. I wonder what it would be like if my neighbour had these.
