This fan makes very high-pitched. It bother my neighbor and my family. If you want to get more powerful than RadonAway RP145, maybe you should choose RadonAway RP265. Very happy that the new one is 100% form factor compatible with the one it was replacing!
For whatever reason, manufacturers often feel the need to change the product sizing/dimensions from time-to-time. That's fine if you're making a first-time purchase, but if you're buying a part to replace a failed part, you want the new one to fit exactly like the old one, to minimize the replacement effort.This Fantech radon fan is a great example of the manufacturer realizing that many of the people buying this unit are buying it to replace an older one. In my case, I was helping an elderly neighbor replace his 25+ year old radon fan that finally failed, and I was very happy to find I could buy something that was an exact fit, relative to the 25 year old one.On a very minor note, the new one, although it fit perfectly, is a bit noisier than the old one, and a bit noisier than the other two units I've installed. Not obnoxiously loud, just noticeable that it's running, whereas the older ones were quieter. The unit is installed outside, so the little extra noise is not an issue for the homeowner.
Quite fan easy to install
Fan installed easy with no problems. This fan had a much higher cfm than I needed. The orgional fan pulled 1.0 inches. This one was over 2.1. Lowered the voltage down to 75 vac with a variac, now it is operating at the same level. Very quite.
the previous fan tech fan I installed for reduction of radon gasses lasted for over 32 years.
The fan is being used for radon gas extraction.if i gat another 20 year performance, I will be grateful and amazed. As mentioned the previous radon fan ran continuously except during power outages for over 32 years!
Works exactly like it should.
Replaced older model. Easy to do on your own and is quiet.
