I purchased this a couple of weeks ago as I was having an afternoon tea party in the garden for a surprise birthday party. We filled this up about an hour before everyone was going to arrive. It was a god send, usually I am running inside and out with the kettle.It does get hot, so you will need to out of the way of children. I did place it on a tray thinks it will then catch the drops but didn't need to as it was drip free. Also don't forget to read the instructions.I have since used it again for a family BBQ in the garden. No doubt it will us it again this summer, but I am also thinking Christmas when lots of family are around, it will allow you to mingle and not be tied to the kettle in the kitchen.

This urn is perfect size for our church, for teas after the service and other functions. Water level is visible, and it only takes about 25 minutes to boil a full urn from cold. The temperature is selectable up to boiling, and it automatically switches to 'keep warm' when the selected temperature is reached, except for boiling. But turning the temperature down slightly from boiling, puts it into keep warm mode. The only slight complaint has been that the water flow through the tap is a bit slow, but I think that depends on the depth of water inside. A very good urn at a reasonable price. Recommended.

Bought this to use with electric hook up in a tent. Low wattage, I don't use to boil water but I know it does (tested at home) but in the tent I can have hot water on tap for washing up, and washing hands using porta potti. Great, it worked well.
