This tool enabled me to remove and replace the syphon in a cistern. It appears to be plastic, with only the adjustment ring being made of steel. The nut holding the syphon in seems to be about 52mm, now that I can measure it properly. If I'd known that before, I'd doubtless have bought a metal spanner that opens that wide instead, and yet that might have been a mistake, because this plastic spanner likely prevents you from overtightening the platic nut by breaking if you go too far instead of writing off the nut or the thread on the syphon outlet. So, this was probably the right tool for the job. I don't think you can go far wrong with it as you can at least use it to help measure the nut you need to tackle, and if it then breaks afterwards while trying to loosen it, at least you'll know what size of spanner you need to have another go with something more robust.

A useful adjustable spanner ideal for loosening the large nuts on sink wastes.It is pretty efficient at doing this although its grip on the waste nut is not tight as would be ideal as there is a bit of play/looseness in the jaw. But I was certainly able to remove and replace the u-bend under the bathroom sink with a bit of patience so it served its purpose.I expect that I will use it again soon as the wastes in my bathroom and kitchen seem to get blocked with some regularity and I find it better to physically remove the u-bend and clean it rather than use drain cleaner.I have found this spanner to be pretty reasonable for the price paid but there are undoubtedly others that would probably grip better.

Had difficulty getting the backnut of a wash-hand basin. The two challenges I had were (a) finding an adjustable spanner that opened wide enough (52mm in my case) and(b) was short enough that it allowed me to turn it in a confined space to release the backnut. This, and whilst it feels like a cheaply make product, did the trick. It might be a use-once and disgard tool, but I'll keep it for now with the expectation that it will break on the next challenge, or the one after that.

Bought this for changing bath taps, poor quality it is not functional, the wheel that you use to adjust the size of the claws is very loose which means that it keeps loosening when in use & you have to keep adjusting which becomes very frustrating, the material is quite flimsy & cheap.Grip is poor due to it loosening when in use. Wouldn’t recognise not fit for purpose.

It looks and feels ok, I think is aluminium from the weight - it just says "alloy" on the packaging. Smooth action but needed it primarily to undo the big plastic nut on toilet cistern and the jaws flexed just from that. Definitely wouldn't want to use it on anything metal or too tight if it bends/flexes this much on a plastic nut. It did do the job, and at the price its "ok", but might send them back as so flimsy

Pretty lightweight but overall does the job
when I opened the packaging I was surprised by how light it was.however, when I worked with it, I had no problems and it did the work well.

Me ha gustado que es muy ligera y versátil, puesto que se puede usar tanto para tuercas pequeñas como para las tipicas de grifos. Desconozco el material, pero supongo que es aluminio por lo ligera que es.Le falta algo de precisión, ya que tiene algo de holgura, pero cumple su función.
