The flavour is to die for. A touch of salt with indulgent buttery flavours - very satisfying. Great for a boost of protein and energy. This is my favourite brand of cycling nutrition. Texture is moist and yet stays firm without crumbling everywhere. Fabulous flavour. Good value for a British product.

I was excited to receive these bars as I am always needing something to nibble on the go. I was however very disappointed with them. They taste very greasy, possibly due to then containing over 10% butter (it says 10% caramel and butter is above caramel in the ingredients list). They also taste very sweet. The first ingredient is Clear honey, also included are caramel, sweetened condensed milk, golden syrup & brown sugar. The combination of the grease and sweetness result in a feeling of eating something very unhealthy. I know the ingredients are there on the description however I wasn't expecting them to taste quite as sickly as they did. My husband refused to eat more than one bite and he usually eats anything!

Mrs. R is a big fan of salted caramel. I love flap jack-style foods.But these are as sweet as a sweet dessert for us - the sweetness reminds us of a butterscotch sauce on a sticky toffee pudding. And this is why I am monstering it.They are, however, NOT a grab-a-healthy-snack bar.If you're craving something sweet, and want to get some protein in as well, at 11.3 grams a bar this isn't bad.I would probably switch out a chocolate bar treat for one of these, it certainly isn't going in my healthy eating pile, though.I must say though - as I do enjoy a sweet thing or two, I am finding it moreish!!Wasn't really why we chose these, though.Still 3 stars. Flavour is nice, got a decent hit of protein in, and will satiate those times when only a nice sweet treat will do!Sorry if I repeated myself there - I was too distracted picking it back up again to eat :D

The media could not be loaded. These bars are soft, will split in half easily but still have a crunch to them due to the crispies. They have a relatively high carb and sugar content with the protein content about average for a plant based bar.Palm oil is used in this product, not great for deforestation issues and is high in saturated fat, even sustainable palm oil would be an improvement.The taste of salted caramel does come through straight away, partner thinks they are nice and son absolutely loves them, they have too much sugar in for me, think I’d prefer the taste of the mint chocolate flavour so it would be interesting to see how they compare.Pack I received has a good shelf life 23/08/22, not that it’s needed as they won’t even see out a week.

These are the best-tasting protein bars I’ve tasted. Other bars come close to replicating ‘real’ snack and chocolate bars but can end up being a bit dry or over-dense, but these? I would actively choose these flapjack-style bars, purely on flavour, above quite a few sweet non-protein bars.Though the flavour is called ‘salted caramel’ which is very fashionable nowadays, I’d compare it to something far more old-fashioned- golden syrup. There’s a rich, moist, syrupy baked feel to it that does feel like a throwback to my grandma’s sugar-happy flapjack baking.It’s hard to believe that these bars are both nut free and gluten free as well, especially the nuts. There’s a solid, audible crunch to these that’s really rather satisfying. Although the bars are a bit thin compared to some protein lumps, the crunch is what makes you feel like you’ve eaten a full-sized proper snack.Yes, they’ve got plenty of fat and sugar in them and they’re only “health” food if you look at them in a very particular way. And yes, they aren’t cheap (especially not at time of writing, but it seems to be fluctuating). But I’m going to give these five stars regardless of that, on the basis of the flavour, which is a definite five stars no question.
