I was looking at 16 inch and saw schallen fan in 18 inch and ordered it. Not looking that there is little difference in design. That one was able to rotate by itself but this one can only be adjusted manually. And I was to return the item but then I plugged it to see whether motor is worth buying or not. This changed our view. The UK fans are usually very light, low noise possibly what customers want, but they give very limited air. This one is loud, noisy but powerful and we loved it so keeping it. It's definitely worth buying if you feel too hot. Because I know some people don't open fan even in temperatures of 30°+. The fan is able to rotate air in our large living room with open kitchen covering a large area but we do put another fan on the other side. This should be made in rotating version too.

sent it back the day it arrived, item description 18" pedestal fan with steel back for stability the fan blades are 15 3/4" and as stable as trying to balance on a pin. total rubbish mis advertised Bolo should not allow this. GARBAGEWhy did you choose this product over others?:18" fan

I bought two of these. Assembly was a bit tricky and definitely needed to be a two person job when mounting the fan assembly on the stand. The second one was a little simpler. It would also have been a good idea to list tools needed in the product description. Not everyone has a fully equipped workshop in their homes.In use the power is probably slightly more than I need. The fan motors get very hot, considering that there is air being constantly drawn over it. This might not bode well for longevity.The vibrations from the fan work their way to the base of the stand and cause reverberations in timber floors, consequently there is a constant rumble from the fan clearly audible in the room below it. Other floor types are probably ok.

I needed a heavy-duty cooling fan for my indoor cycling - the room is south-facing and it can get very warm. This fan is brilliant - quite heavy and sturdy, beautifully made and with 3 speeds and adjustable height & direction. Even the lowest setting is powerful. It's pretty big, too - so not ideal if you have a small room. It's also quite noisy. But it's absolutely perfect for my needs. I don't think I could have found a better fan. Not cheap, but IMO worth every penny.

This fan is pretty stupid.Its strong and gusty which is great, and the noise isn't as bad as people complain about.But, it's advertised as having 300° of motion, which sounds great. But for some, quite foolish, unknown reason, it's on a horizontal axis. So unless you like to serve your floor or ceiling with airflow it's utterly pointless. Also it doesn't do that fun swinging thing in any direction. So it's full on galés or nothing.Obviously too lazy to send it back so I am stuck with it now. Perhaps, hopefully I will grow to like it

Not great and not fit for purpose. Came in a resealed box with the stabilising weight missing for the base and scuffs on the base. Don’t expect to buy a new item and receive something used!
