Works perfectly with Home Assistant. With a blueprint from the HASSIO website, you can even more (search " Zigbee2MQTT - Xiaomi Cube Controller")The only downside I can think of is the lack of numbers or indications of which side is which. But that's easily fixed with some labels or a marker.

Supported ZigBee device. Had to install twice as the first didn't include most of the exposures. Using Z2M. Just playing with it at the moment. Seems a bit hit and miss with picking up commands. It can be overly sensitive at times, then unresponsive at others. But it's very exciting and I can see a lot of uses for it.

Bought these to use with Home Assistant. They looked to provide lots of control in a single device. I have them programmed to sense which side they're flipped onto, and to have the other functions do different things based on that face.The trouble is that these devices only send the face value for certain events (flip, slide, knock and maybe others, but definitely not rotate) and quite often, these events don't register. So I'm finding I flip the cube to the desired face, it doesn't register the flip around 25% of the time, and so my rotations end up controlling something other than the current upward face. There's a workaround, which is to flip and then slide or knock a couple of times to confirm the flip. But even that isn't completely reliable, and it means you can't program anything into the slide or knock functions.I got two of them, and they both exhibit the same behaviour. Asking around, it seems to be a common issue. They're still usable in situations where you have some feedback (such as lamp dimming in the room you're in) but without that feedback (say you want to turn your lights from PIR sensing mode to manual mode) you can never be sure you're controlling what you think you're controlling.They may work better when used with the Aqara hub and app. But in Home Assistant, they're far from perfect. Not sure I can return them, as they're not strictly faulty. But they're not fit for the purpose I bought them for, and I've a feeling these will end up in a drawer in the longer term.My other Aqara products (contact switches and PIR sensors) have been flawless. This device rather lets the overall Aqara experience down.

The thing to remember with this device is that it is not compatible with non aqara systems (unless you use home assistant). If you have home assistant you have access to the full functionality across your entire smart home. Keep it next to your bed and turn it upside down in the morning to put the kettle on (assuming you have a smart plug attached to your kettle and you've already filled it and activated the switch on the kettle so the smart plug will do the rest).

Whilst the concept of this device is interesting and the control options comparatively extensive, it is let down by its implementation.Firstly, the rotate control is unresponsive and inaccurate - it takes time to recognise that it'd been performed, then it seems to register a seemingly random amount of rotation.Secondly, it takes time to wake up. If you've configured it to turn lights on with a knock, you have to do it twice - once to wake it up, then wait a bit, then do it again. Sometimes it still doesn't work the second time.

Unfortunately this, unlike most all other Aqara things don’t work with Apple HomeKit, even if you have the Aqara hub like I do. For that reason, this was useless to me.

If you like to set your hue light by random twisting, shaking or turning a box then this is the kit. Easy to set up and use and fun to mess with. No Issue with it at ll. Linked mine via home assistant, so easier to customise
