J-B Weld is The Original Cold Weld two-part epoxy system that provides strong, lasting repairs to metal and multiple surfaces. Mixed at a ratio of 1:1, it forms a permanent bond and can be shaped, tapped, filed, sanded and drilled after curing. At room temperature, J-B Weld sets in 4-6 hours to a dark grey color. A full cure is reached in 15-24 hours. J-B Weld has a tensile strength of 3960 PSI and sets to a hard bond overnight. It can withstand temperatures up to 550ºF when fully cured.

Very durable adhesive

The statue is hollow and was mounted on a single metal rod that protruded through a 1/4" thick wood base that had been cemented inside the statue's hollow leg by the artist that made it. The wood base cracked. I replaced it with a piece of 1/4" aluminum that I bought from on-line metals and cut the the exact dimensions. I mounted the original bracket to the aluminum and used the weld to secure the aluminum to the fiberglass inside the statue's leg. It worked great. This stuff is excellent for attaching dissimilar materials (but it is not nearly as strong as a true weld which could not have been used here, of course)

So strong that I was totally surprised. My metal stair-railing outside was rusted out and I patched it up using this product. It looks good and is as strong as the metal was. My wife needs it to climb the stairs and put alot force on it. NO PROBLEM!!
